Its kind of a weird question right? This sandbox mode with limitations and rules…whats the hard part of it? ANd how do we define hard…..and what subjective profiling is going on in ur head to determine what you end up choosing as the hardest….

Q. Whats the hardest part of wvsw? (for you)

My personal answer: Hardest part of the mode is probably finding people I like, and being able to play with these people in sufficient numbers, all at the same time in a squad, to accomplish the things I want to do.

I mean some1 else might answer: its building siege, its having guild catapults, its mesmers, its large zergs, its ppt, its ppk, its duelers, its tonic shenanigans……its a very open ended question that covers a variety of potential sets of components so don’t be scared to answer in your own way.

I found that hard to find like minded players share the same time zone. Finally i found a guild that share similar time zone after world linking and i transferred server just to be with them.

Trying to run past that one kittening fallen tree ne of the western camp on alpine without getting stuck.

Hardest part for me is the downed state. Carries my bad enemies that put the adage safety in numbers to shame. And at the same time keeps some of my allies from ever truely improving. There are some nights I seriously struggle with wether or not to rez them.

Commanding, have tried it and dislike doing it.

The hardest part of wvw is looking at what used to be my favourite game mode and realising that it not only sucks, but will continue to suck forever.

Trying to enjoy playing vanilla builds against elite builds. I dislike Reaper and very much prefer vanilla Shroud over Reaper Shroud. I hate Druid staff and enjoy my high damage vanilla build too much (that requires all 3 trait lines that I’m using). I don’t mind Berserker and will use it sometimes but I enjoy Ranger and Necromancer far, far more than Warrior anyway.

I prefer to play what/how I have the most fun with. Unfortunately, elite specs are so considerably better than vanilla in many cases that when I meet someone of equal or greater skill, I’m usually either forced to run or fight a very steep uphill battle.

Watching the devs making stupid decisions over and over is definitly the hardest part for me in this game mode.

Trying to move more than 200 feet without being kittened by thieves o_o

Getting out of the wall, because when I fix it, it spawns on me.

Seeing really fun players and guildies after playing for so long just randomly leave and never come back.

Dealing with completely unbalanced match-ups and watching the damage linked servers are causing. Servers should not take round trips around the tiers based on who they are linked with.

Trying to get people to fight, seems like everyone runs from fights nowadays

Hardest part… trying to get puglings to learn how to zerg fight and not have them sit on a ranger 2000 range behind the melee train getting killed by a couple of thieves

The hardest part is to receive love from Anet.

I feel like an orphaned child from a drug addict who only cares about PvP, while it only hurts them.

Not chasing that Mesmer/Teef you know you could down if they’d just stop running away.

Defending a tower or a keep by standing on wall and trying to shoot whatever is below. “Out of sight” “You’re dead.”

That is really frustrating, and really hard to stand.

Hardest for me is self motivating to participate when my server is essentially anonymous and paired with a host server that I actively dislike.

Getting people to stick on tag and/or join teamspeak (or voice communications of your choice)

so many, where to start… one is being stained by people because I don’t get into teamspeak. I may be following a tag at a given time but really doing my own thing.. Not everyone needs to be on teamspeak unless they are part of the zerg/blob and really trying to give support to the bigger group. People seriously need to remember that THEIR mode of play isn’t the only one. WINNING in WvW means nothing other than “we won something”… no rewards, nothing.

Some of us actually like to come in and provide support in other ways.

In the meantime… what I dislike the most about WvW… server linking! ugh. Merge if you have to but linking sucks.

Hardest part is not being discouraged by the current score. If you’re way ahead then it can feel pretty boring attacking nothing but NPCs. If you’re way behind, then it can feel pretty boring getting run over by 70 man blobs if you even try to take a camp. Matchups are all decided by Saturday morning and it’s hard to for me to ignore the score and motivate myself to play anyways.

Nevermind, this makes me wish that somebody else would make a good WvW MMO

As a solo roamer, hardest part for me is how frustrated I get when fighting outnumbered and each time I put someone into downstate, 3-4 players dive onto them immediately with Stab and Invuln and Cleave so there’s basically nothing I can do to stop them getting back up. Even though you play better than those guys, they’ll beat you through attrition alone. So annoying.

Since the beginning of the game and WVW, the hardest thing in it remains one and the same for me.

That is finding a somewhat balanced server to play on that doesn’t suffer from constantly being outnumbered or constantly being held back by gaps in time zone coverage, and doing so without transfer to T1.

I am always advocating real meta server system for WvW. That is the only way to save WvW in long term.

For me, it’s balancing doing boring PPT related things to help our server maintain T1, while still participating in enough fights to make the effort worth it

Motivation.

Having trouble bothering with playing WvW past an easy way to get a couple of dailies.

I remember a post in a condition related topic where one said it takes 15-30 sec to dish out 10k dmg with conditions and calling people moronic. (the irony)

Finding a fair/fun fight in roaming, or a casual non-ts wvw guild. I know WvW is geared towards Zerg-vs-Zerg, but it’s also the only true (fairly) unrestricted pvp in the game (where you can pick your fights).

For me, its the condi mesmer. Being a roamer at heart, i absolateuly love the challenge of fighting all the different builds/classes from all the classes, except the condi mesmer.

There is something about loading folks up with confusion/torment and hiding like a chicken that sucks the fun out of even engaging them. I don’t even bother fighting them anymore, complete and utter waste of time. (Learn to play, i know, but it isnt fun to even engage this troll build). And since 99% of all roaming nowadays is about condi, it sucks the fun right out of WvW…

For me, every class is a coward these days. Bunch of little everyone gets a trophy kids playing this game and can’t stand the thought of losing. Kinda pathetic lol

For me is when im frontline, to willfully retreat from large battles, even after realizing a friendly zerg decide to retreat because a few comrades dies. Also defending walls when against staff necros/eles and lb rangers/dh, it used to be easier for me back when engineer had deployable and rifled turrets and motar had better arc and the 5th skill could scramble blobs.

Hardest part is land mortar shot to moving target. You see some thief roamer and try to kill him with a mortar. It’s very hard.

Ye I hate running away, and when I atleast try to solo two gankers, I get corpsejumped for enhancing the fight.

Finding a good smallscale fight quickly (ie within 5 minutes).
