Guild Wars 2

Hi everyone,

I’m a completely new GW2 player currently trying to make a decision on which home world I should play. Thinking either about Seafarer’s Rest, Desolation or Gandara. I’m mostly interested in PvP aspects of the game including WvW (solo, roaming but I’d also like to experience some large scale battles).

Which server would you recommend? How’re communities on the above mentioned servers and which server would be the best for a new player who’s just getting into the game?

But I would recommend FSP! But i’m biased

Gandara will definitely be your best bet. They are a lot more welcoming and nice to new players. You will be given hell on SFR. No upscales and rallybots allowed!

@OP roaming in T1 servers ?

you can always try by your self and see how funny is a jumping zerg on you

Gunnars Hold if you like decent fights. We have lots of roamers and our community is laidback and mature.

Since when Deso has no blob) (i though they have a blob for every action in w3 )

Now, I’ll not make another thread, but use this one for similar purpose.

I’m currently thinking about changing servers. I’m on Desolation, but since I highly prefer roaming and SFR doesn’t want to go anywhere I’d like to move.

I was thinking about 3 servers: Gandara, Piken Square, Gunnar’s Hold.

Which one would be the best choice for a person who is not keen on zerging/being zerged by “roaming” SFR groups of 15 ? .

@Rym Any one of those servers is good for roaming. Gandara might be the most renown for its roaming culture (it’s why I transferred from Desolation myself) but I’ve always come up against plenty of strong roaming on Piken and GH.

I don’t think the lower tiers are the same anymore especially in terms of activity, so you might miss these Tiers, as frustrating roaming is against SFR and others.

At least we have Kodash this week if you don’t care about the PPT stuff or havoc/sniping.

That’s funny, last time we encountered Deso (2-3 weeks ago) I just saw a couple of guilds raiding, everywhere else was just a mass blobbing.
If you really want guild raiding and roaming, then you should definitely join FSP.

GH-PS-FSP-AG are the best option if you like to roam and still have the option to follow the zerg.

I’d certainly recommend my home Gandara, mostly because of the variety of guilds available, friendly atmosphere and attitude of many commanders to educate new players.

We have guilds that organise small group roaming, scouting/defending objectives, bigger scale guild raids and GvG and of course excellent public commanders who will make you a good WvW player as long as you’re listening to them on TS.

So you can try and see which one will suit you most. Still, gold league is gold league so expect blobs and 15-30 ppl guild groups running around during prime time, both from Gandara and whoever we get matched with. Even then you can do a lot with just a few people while guilds are busy with each other. We almost took north bay with a few guildies the other day while two bigger guilds were fighting south .
