Q:

Why do we have to suffer when a patch kicks off?

Tequatle patch = WvW lagged 1 day before the patch till 1 day after the patch.
Last WvW patch = you didn’t test the ram mastery properly so Iron Hide was abusable for a whole night.
Big Twilight (PvE) and minor WvW patch = WvW matchups are messed up completely and is still under maintenance. How’s that possible?

I feel like you are taking all the capacity/recources from the servers and from the WvW team to put it all into the PvE content.
What do we have to expect next time when you implement the next big balance patch? (when will it be btw? maybe im uninformed but I expected it today)

Why can’t you (for at least one time) ensure a professional made patch carried out with the minimum of inconvenience. I would be glad about hat.

They don’t really care about WvW, get that into your head. When they do realize that they are failing with this revamping of dungeons and metas and people start waking up and seeing that they are just dragging this game out with them reusing old content over and over, people will leave to other games, cause other games are coming out, but Anet will have acted late and those people will have committed to another game and they will have lost them, They think they can troll us along but they can’t, I don’t PvE, I hate the living story and always have, never wanted it, I wanted an expansion, a new area and new dungeons, but Anet said more people wanted this living story and this was the way to go, I think its a joke.

Think PvE makes for better advertising? The story and scenery, the creatures and stuff, probably sounds more attractive to new customers than WvW.

GW2 is probably looking for a niche, it is not a top 10 rated computer game. They need to market carefully.

One of their strong points I bet is that women like this game more than the top rated ones. We like the scenery and the role of women in the stories. We like crafting too.

WvW should have a different game client (.exe) seriously, same for PvP, that way patches are 100% independent and never affects the other. How you go from WvW to LA for example? easy, you do the same as always, but the game exit and reenter the other client quickly.

I agree tbh, I hate the fact that I have to think in terms of ‘oh it’s patch Tuesday, no WvW today, maybe I’ll play some ME3 instead.’

It really really is annoying how every single patch day WvW is down, we are sitting in Lion’s Arch… I tagged up today in LA and had about 10 guys following me around escorting what looked like a Supply Dolyak around the city just because we were so bored…

Come on ANet, the community is already on edge and every mistake you makes OP he magnified and criticised to the highest degree, give us something we care about or want, I love your game, but it’s really getting bad :/ One little thing to restore the faith; ask Mr Dociu to colour in those Commander icons, make party members kickable in WvW, add the same rewards for sentry cap (or half) to the successful escort of a Dolyak, increase the range of /supplyinfo command, find some way around chat suppression mid-battle for commanders, remove thief c&d off walls. Any of the above would ease upset players and stop the negative feelings continuing; heck any news that you are working on them or have an eta would be amazing. Come on!

They think they do enough for wvw by adding ranks/wvw abilities.
Bloodlust stat boost is something no one asked for and the ruins, well… at least the kraits in the middle island gave me wxp. The ruins are deserted 24/7 in the matchups that I’ve played in, therefore useless and a massive waste of time by Anet.
So after more then a year, there’s been nothing for wvw while PvE gets something every 2 weeks.
They get the big moneys from the roleplayers and the pve carebears.

In every game, PvE population is never the people you will keep. They will chase the next shiny when the next game releases. hardcore PvP crowd sticks to the game until it disappears.

Because there are over 9000 teams that work on PvE while only one group on WvW, even that they didn’t do any work at all, all they did was adding some mastery and kitten. The ruins were just a copy paste from PvE, I wouldn’t call that a work.

And the bottom line is, PvE players give them more money than WvW.

You make it sound like a game needs PvE players to survive. If Anet promoted WvW more, the number of new players will outnumber the leaving PvE players because there are still tons of things to do in PvE, and no other game features WvW.

PvE is for the casuals in any case. Who cares about killing AI monsters that run to you with the one renowned tactic ‘knockdown and attack’. True, a lot of WvW players have about the same tactic, but those are either casual or brainless WvW players (aka. blobbers).

Though there are still a few who do more than that and actually use tactics, and those are the good WvW players.

So in short the Guild Wars 2 community:

  • PvE players that have no brains [Zergers/Farmers]
  • PvP players that have no brains [Blobbers]
  • WvW players with brains! [Us]
  • Roleplayers [R(I)P]

Oh yeah – don’t take me completely serious, no need to rage now

PvP players don’t enjoy countless bugs and exploits throughout the game. see, the general consensus of what WvW has needed for over a year ain’t new content. it’s things working right, and quality of life improvements. that’s it. that’s all. while yes, sure, there have been occasional requests for additions, or new maps, or new siege, the VAST majority of the requests that have come since the betas is to just make the game mode work properly, and for better tools to work with. those are not unreasonable requests, those are not even major request. those are how things should have been since day 1. if ford sells a car where the tires randomly explode and there’s a hand drawn picture where the steering wheel is supposed to be, ford is getting sued into oblivion. this is pretty much exactly what WvW players have been forced to deal with for over a year now. we just want our steering wheels.

I totally agree with you.

There are a lot of quality of life changes that community is asking for long time ago and too easy to implement and arenanet only ignore them focusing on pve content.

In online games i only enjoy pvp. For pve i have a LOT of GREAT single or coop games.

Like someone said above, arenanet is ignoring the most loyalty community, the pvp gamer, who play the game until the end, because, pve players will move to the next mmorpg with new shiny content.

I think pve in online games is a slow dying mode. Is true a lot of peoples play it actually and in the past, but the problems is always the same from the beginning, the need of constant new content and poor re playability.

Global Agenda, a mediocre game in my criteria, has a interesting mode: A player can join a instance/dungeon as a enemy. Is something like (not the same) left4dead. If a company polish that would be amazing, a boss/mobs or mechanic controlling by another/various random/anonymous players. Like L4D.

A company need to habituate players to do some PVP in their online games content, risk something for win more. Not to bet for the safer and be another pve farming game of the moment.

A company need to habituate players to do some PVP in their online games content, risk something for win more. Not to bet for the safer and be another pve farming game of the moment.

that’s kinda sounds like how a DM worked in NWN. though, the DM system was a bit more in depth. they could spawn monsters as well as non-hostile NPC, and could also possess them to control them directly. they could add chest and loot, and could award xp (which would probably need to have some fairly strict restrictions on it in an MMO). they could add traps as well, which could be placed on doors, chests or just over a square on the ground. they pretty much had all the tools they needed to recycle preexisting maps for their own PvE or RP adventures countless times.

not having that option has really sapped a lot of the enjoyment, as well as the longevity, out of MMO for me. going and killing the same mobs, in the same order, with the same tactics over and over and over gets really stale really fast.
