Because you are wvw player. You need all possible advantage what you can get so you need best possible meta blob build and you can’t get best possible meta super blob build without expansion.

For $50,- you get airships in WvW.
(The new WvW world maps will be available to everyone, even without having the HoT expansion)
And thats about it for the wvw people xD

No need to buy it, you will be able to watch the slow painful death of wvw for free.

New super class for each class. Lots of new guild things too.

I’m buying it. I don’t necessarily expect a lot out of it for WvW, but maybe I can get some chuckles out of it from the PvE stuff, and I do plan to make a Revenant, as well as use guild halls.

Plus I figure since I don’t buy a lot of gems if I buy that $100 expac I can bank some gems for later. Meh, compared to yearly expacs plus sub I have gotten a pretty good value out of this game.

I like to call them super classes becuse they are kind of the other side of the sub class ideal. So not as in power but as in where the class is applied or above level 80 not the below level 80. More build chose go a long way in game types like wvw and if you wvw often with a group of ppl you should get a lot more enjoyment for something new with these added “specialization.”

New profession, New specialisations adding more versatile and refreshing combat, new map, new things like airships and stuff you can access via guilds, new wvw masteries. aswell as new weapons on each char futher improving on and addming more versatility to combat, this expansion is adding an awful lot.

They have yet to show the other classes and the rev and gurd super classes seem good. From a wvw point of view giving gurds traps or the ability to stealth with the right rune set is crazy. Rev super class to a point seems weaker but its got lot of good anty ranges cover.

Yes, pushing everyone into only 3 trait lines is certainly ‘more versatile’, as is taking out the points from traits and adding them to armor sets (not to mention meaning most of us will have to redo armor sets, either remake from scratch or remold in forge, losing the expensive runes in the process).

Map, first in three years…btw, do you need gliding there or can you glide, as gliding comes from the expansion so non-HoT people could be severely kitten…

Airships, massive pve fight in middle of map, yep, soon we won’t need players there at all to fight against….

New weapons..most of which will go the way of current sets…

because you owe them for the thousands of hours of fun u got playing GW2.

Not sure if u can use specialisations without expansion

I don’t care about PvE either – I do it under duress so I can level for WvW. So far all I see for WvW from the expansion is a new class and new specializations. I think we’ll all get access to the new maps, even if we don’t buy the expansion.

I feel like I’m in a twisted experiment. I keep hoping the industry will stop kicking its players in the teeth but it seems to only get worse while repeating the same mistakes over and over game after game.

Not to mention the skill lag when you can only use the 1 skill on wvw… and even worse canot even land a melee hit because of lag…
Fix that before even think on launching an expantion

It’s not worth $50 even if you play PvE. If you only do WvW, the value is almost nonexistent.
