See? Patience is always a good thing. Most people knew that ANeT would eventually fix it. You just have to wait. The world did not end, the sky did not fall. And because ANeT is taking responsibility they have decided to award 100 more tickets.

They were terrible, but that’s not the point, it’s the principle. Your statement is ignorant to that fact and assuming you got your S1 reward, it makes your statement annoying to.

And yes i got mine.

I suppose I can send in a ticket now that we know when the rewards will be available. My Achievement tab says 4th place. I checked with the Battle Historian and he says that I am associated with the correct server and that the server has placed 2nd. I hope it gets sorted out before the patch goes live.

Good way to fix it…purge tickets that were wrongfully given (in numbers) in some cases and giving a compensation.

What i would like to see is stuff like this not happen again specially when having 2 months of just offering a working rewarding system. Altho i say it is a good ending to a fiasco of negligence i again say…this problem should NEVER in any possible circumstance happen after having the game released for more then 2 years and also passing through a similar problem a few months ago.

The rage u saw on the forums was piling up because of things like this….and is entirely your own doing. Nobody wants to waste gameplay time to come spam forums u know that right?

I’ll just explain you guys something about code. What we actually call a “bug” is a line of code doing something exactly as it is meant to. Unfortunately it may not be doing what you want it to. In this case, a slight oversight probably lead to a wrong calculation of reward eligibility for some people. So they had to spend a considerable time finding the correct values. It happens and you wouldn’t like it either if an angry mob appeared on your doorstep after a simple mistake. Coders need to work with a clear mind to function not under stress or fear. So chill and actually practice some empathy for once. They made a sweet gesture as well so it’s time to stop the angry mob antiques…

This should have been fixed 6 months ago after the first tournament not now after they tried to pretend this bug didn’t exist till after spring 2014 tournament. My support ticket replies reflects just that. The mob has every right to be angry as hell as they we should be.

You have not the slightest clue how hard it is to test these things. So please don´t pretend everything is so easy. Those guys at Anet get milions of lines of code shoved in their faces and the error could be everywhere. Because believe me, errors are often not as easy to find as they look.

Imagine you have to work under the constant spam of unpatient poeple who don´t even have the slightest idea on what you´re doing? I bet you wouldn’t like that. And now you might say that you would do it right, but everyone knows it’s not as simple as that including you I hope.

Once that build is live, you will be able to speak to the Battle Historian in any WvW map to get an updated tournament chest that has the correct rewards and number of tickets for your placement. Previously issued tickets will be voided with the build. Feel free to open any chests that you have already received now.

Can’t wait to swing around my new scimitar. I think that weapon set was much expected due to the eastern flair it has got, a first in GW2. I can just hope that we will sooner or later get more armor/weapon sets sporting asian/middle-east influences to add variety to character customisation.

Good to hear the rewards are on their way! It was quite a bummer to not recieve my tournament chest while I completed the meta. Very good apporoach also to reward 100 tickets extra for the inconvenience which it caused. It shows you guys truly care about it.

Next time though I would try to be a little more active in informing the player base and giving updates on how it progresses, even if there is no progression it gives us the idea you guys are still seeing it as a priority. It took a while now before any response came in and people, including me, felt like they were not taken seriously.

And in principle you should never get angry over something that is at best, a minor inconvenience. No one was hurt, no money lost, people didn’t lose their ability to get gems after purchasing them, no game modes were shut down, no mass crashes or hacks etc etc. This entire issue is literally a certain number of people waiting awhile just to get a skin, or rewards that can be obtained in other game modes in the meantime, and the level of outrage is utterly unreasonable. I see less people get upset over real problems than this, and it’s just astounding.

I sent in a ticket because my Achievements Tab is displaying “4th Place” when the Battle Historian is telling me that I am associated with the correct world and that world has placed 2nd for WvW Spring 2014 Tournament. I sent a ticket and the GM sent me a canned response. It would be nice if Support actually read the ticket content instead of assuming it’s another QQ about rewards not being given out.

I hope this is REALLY fixed and everyone gets the correct amount of tickets on Tuesday…I expect plenty of posts saying they still have the wrong amount of reward tickets…

In that respect, servers that scored higher get better rewards. If you placed 1st, you are the only people capable of getting 2 mistforged skins. Everyone else will only get one. So if you run an ele, people will know you were 1st by virtue of the fact that you are wielding a Mistforged Scepter, and Mistforged Dagger.

And by going 2 dagger you just need 1, the point of trying to get any other place that its not the 1st, and even being first its not as the rewarded you in an unique manner…

It is indeed very lame for ANet to reward the winners more than the rest. Yes, very lame. This is a serious issue and should definitely not have been put in from the start. Mhm.

Thanks Jessica, Mark, and wvw team. This must have been hard for you guys (complex bugs are way more complex then some players realize here). Personally I don’t think you could have done it better.

1) you prevented escalation, further bugs, by locking down the reward npc for a while. (smart thinking, people that complain here dont realize that could have made it a whole lot worse, and delay it even further).
2) You communicated about every half of a week. I don’t think that could have been handled better (spending more time here would have gone to waste for your work hours).
3) You wait for an actual patch day, to include the patch. Many people still don’t understand it, but the bug itself might have originated alone from not being compatible with another update. That’s why Anet groups updates as much as possible, so they can test big patches more, and see if the updates, conflict somehow in code with each other. For some very angry players here, tuesday is probably still to late. But they don’t understand the word ‘bug’.
4) You even compensate us. Nice gesture (and can’t deny, more tokens always makes somebody happy), but I think the angry players here don’t deserve it. I hope their behavior, didn’t have to much of an impact. It’s bad enough to have to fix an annoying sneaky bug, but also to have to read about raging players, is not good for morale. I hope people, that have no shame and raged earlier will apologies. It’s a nice gesture we, the community can do, to lighten this thread up a bit.

Yes, definitely a good move. I must say that it is a pleasant surprise for me – i didn’t really expect anything extra. And if it will indeed be resolved on 17th, then it would also be faster than i thought it would take.

It already solved..the post says that you will get a new chest according to what the historian is saying. that wy you did not have to send a ticket…Your question is already answered

It says we talk to the Battle Historian “to get an updated tournament chest that has the correct rewards and number of tickets for your placement”. You’re assuming that it will follow what the Battle Historian is saying and not what is displayed on the account’s Achievements Tab.

If you’re correct then I have nothing to worry about. But how about those players who are currently associated with the wrong world? Or have it the other way around? Achievements Tab is saying they got the right place, but the Battle Historian is saying they’re associated with a different server?

It says you’re going to get the correct rewards for your placement. I hope that also means that they will fix it so that players will be placed correctly as well. I know that’s a little technical, but sillier bugs have existed on GW2.

Also a dev already said that if players want to make a ticket they can. And that wasn’t even about this particular issue, but the issue about players not receiving the rewards after the Tournament.

Why we have to wait until 17th June? This is a bug fix not a new feature. PvE bugs are fixed as soon as possible even if It’s not tuesday.
