Wvw (EotM) Questions
EotM runs a series of different instances as players from the 3 servers fill it up. Changing to a new server will not prevent you from ever encountering these dead instances, they are a natural result as players come and go. Sometimes leaving the mists and coming back will put you in a new instance, sometimes it will put you back into your old instance (which needs even more players, since you left!).
EotM was not intended to be a go-to mode, it is there to allow people to play if their normal WvW lands are full.
Ah ok, is there a server list of which servers are always on the same teams? or does this change every week?

You team will depend on your server colour… Blue and Red usually have dead times, while green always keep most population. If you try to join a EotM instance right after it start, you’re likely to get on active one (despite your colour). But later on, unless you’re on green, you’re likely to face bad instaces.

Hmm i do not understand why. Jade and Blackgate are blue and red. There is like no major server in green, so why would it always be populated? but yes i have noticed this i think

Tarnished Coast is green, and they are currently #1 server on the NA leaderboard. But besides that, green is the color of the top server in each tier (blue is 2nd, red is 3rd), so the green side of EotM will always have the top servers of each tier and they usually have a lot more population than the other servers.
That is why the green side in EotM always has the numbers regardless of overflow.
Even so, red and blue usually have their zergs, but sometimes these disband due to fail commanders or other colors farming their ktrain. There are sometimes guilds going into EotM to hunt the ktrains, so people usually leave when they see they can’t run the ktrain and level their alts anymore. I fail to see the satisfaction in this, but there are all sorts of people and for some it’s fun to ruin other people’s day, and some of them even get all self-righteous about it and how they “protect the way wvw should be played”; it’s hillarious to read what they write on map chat or on the forums.
For a new player, EotM is not really a good place to go. 99% of the people who go to EotM do so to ktrain and/or level alts, so they generally try to avoid fights and, sadly, most of them have their brains put on sleep mode, while others display a rather toxic behaviour; EotM is really really not representative of what WvW means. If you like the ideea of large scale PvP(-ish), go to WvW proper (Eternal Battlegrounds and the Borderlands), that is where the real action is and the people interrested in WvW as a competitive large scale PvP(-ish) mode. The general consensus for the majority of players is that WvW proper is for WvW, and EotM is for ktrain and leveling alts.
Depending on the tier your server is, there may or may not be a lot of action in WvW proper, but usually during prime time there are people there. As a rule of thumb, the higher the tier, the more people you will find in WvW proper and the more chances you’ll get of having people to play with there in the off-times.

Edge of the Mists is a WvW zone. PvE players who arrive in Edge of the Mists and get upset that they’re being killed should stay in PvE where they belong.

Please, if you want to PvE – there’s plenty of PvE options. Perhaps you could explore them?
I like how you are just making SkyFallsInThunder’s point even more true.
