WvW : war has always been about taking strategic position so these buff are welcome to give this dimension. So yes to all. War is based on strategy organisation only fair fights is all about sport not war spirit. Just people need to make their mind clear about what is really a war is about and stop complaining about its design or go spvp. XD

I don’t see where the strategy comes to play when an enemy can keep covering all points just by having more people than their opponents.

Now servers have things like recruiting highly skilled individuals as a priority. It’s not just about the zerg anymore. Send your skilled to each map to help cap the middle points and claim bloodlust. Bloodlust buff could help the underdog servers too. A ton of you are just mad because now suddenly wvw is not all about the zerg.

I don’t see where the stratergy comes to play when an enemy can keep covering all points just by having more people than their opponents.

And who cover the rest of the map? You have to divide the forces, and it is a very positive thing.

This evening I played all the time in a outnumbered border and we obtained the buff, so it is not just a matter of numbers.

In short, I think this is an excellent patch, especially for the roamers. Great job WvWvW team

This would have been best update since removal of culling if the orbs wouldn’t have given stat bonuses. I really like the new areas and gaining points when you stomp an enemy. Just the stupid decision of gaining stat bonuses turned this into the worst update so far. I hope I will never hear an anet employee say that they listen to their players in an interview or speech again.

Excluding buffs, it’s pretty much impossible to kill 3 exotic-geared players on your own. The ‘zerging’ server doesn’t need to put much out to shut you down.

I really like new area and the fact, that to keep or cap it, you are better off splitting into smaller groups. Stat buff is bullkitten tho, rewards already winning server. Change the buff into something else (like it was suggested countless times on this forum) and it will be really nice content.

But that’s silly a statement to begin with, you shouldn’t be winning a 3v1 unless your opponents are absolutely terrible.

They go where they need to go. They just need somone to scout and give a report so they can keep otunumbering the weaker server where ever they are.

To accomplish that, they’d need to either have a small force on each node (yes, that means all five) or have ungodly loading times and movement. The server doesn’t need to take all three of your nodes, they just need one of your nodes and two of the other nodes.

The new orbs destroyed GvG, the only time I really played my thief in wvw anymore.

I was thinking of actually maining him once against to capture points for bloodlust, but it’s already apparent roaming classes (mesmer, thief, d/d ele) are absolutely useless because the points are ruled by necros, engis, and condition warriors spamming AoE’s and fears, and CCs.

So no, I am not happy with this content. In fact I would much rather it return to the way it was before.

Can’t say im in favour of this update, you spend more time trying to keep the nodes, than actually running around the map defending more important keeps etc,

The map update was great, but the buff is annoying, I really do feel for the servers that struggled against higher numbers, but its going to be 100x worse for them now,

They should do something different with the new capture points, be it boosts for carrying more supplies, or allows camps etc to regenerate supplies faster, etc etc, something that can benefit the servers too.

Medic/Robust aren’t balancing mechanics (look’em up, they’ve existed since launch). 24/7 gameplay isn’t a balancing mechanic. Gear isn’t a balancing mechanic.

This is the same buff as the orb just a little more work to get. Trust me it’s not hard to get if you have a zerg doing it. That’s how a majority of servers have gotten their 3 buffs atm. They zerged and then leave a few scouts behind to alert them when others try to take so that they can zerg back. The map is so small they have no problem covering the distance even in a zerg. I’ve been here since beta and it’s ridiculous to me when people defend this buff/orb. Yes they were removed because of fly hacks but that wasn’t the only problem with it. We’re experiencing the same problem we had back then which was stacked server got even stronger and they would always store the orbs in a keep with a waypoint which made it near impossible to take back.

The only problem here is population imbalances. It is the root of all the mess. Anything they add that are aimed to benefit everyone will always end up benefiting the stronger server more drastically. I’ve said this over and over all along from the start of this game and even in beta. This game needed a dead cap per map in WvW. This will force guilds to actually move to lower tier if they wanted to participate. ANet being worried that people will quit the game due to the cap is just simply not trusting their own product. This is a great game and it is the only one of it’s kind in the market currently, they’re not going to quit. However, money is out weighing quality at this point of the game, which is simply too soon since it’s been only a little over a year. ANet has created a snowball effect of guilds moving to higher tier. No matter what their reasons are, the point remains. The majority are moving or did move.

The new WvW maps are really good, I am all in favour of less krait and less wildlife in general to get in the way of those classes who need targets to lock on to ( especially with perm stealthers). However do I like the new bloodlust stat, NO I don’t. Anet again has failed to understand the need for fair play in this game. Cap the numbers and it solves all the skill lag, overbearing unequal matchups between High populated and medium populated servers etc. Bloodlust only further aids the number game and really that’s something we all should be motivating Anet to look into and change. I rather queue than to be beat on an unequal numbers game. At least to me I would see more skill based gameplay and less blobasaurus. Never mind about outnumbered stats, just curb outnumbering altogether and lets have real match ups and real battles, where every move you make is a risk. Above all make it fun and like PVP championships, see where the real skilled players are but in WVW format.

Agreed, all for numbers capping and kicking the population unbalances in one swoop. perhaps another way for this to happen is for high population servers to be paired with other high pop servers, then the population inbalance might sort itself out. After all we have seen many high pop servers already creating “Allies” on maps. The worst I have seen is two high pop servers pretty much tearing into an adversary server that clearly have no numbers to fully integrate with the behind the scenes tactics going on. At least this way people who move to servers basically have a bed to lie in, if they choose T1/ T2 servers to play on, they are expected to have the lag, have the huge numbers (and the 24 hour rotation capping IMO). End of the day, I just want to see balance in a game I like and enjoy playing and which I would enjoy further without all this uber-zerging.

People don’t need a bonus to stat points to make this bloodlust addition compelling. If you just give the buff a buff to stomp points you will still have given a massive incentive to play in the new areas WITHOUT unbalancing the fights.

I’ll admit, I haven’t tried it yet, and things may look different a few weeks down the road when people come up with fast tower/keep counters while the blobs choose to duke it out for bloodlust.

1. Bloodlust buff is pointless. It took the servers that severely outnumber ours less than 3 hours to figure out that with us having the max bloodlust, there numbers advantage would just still overrun us. Yes during this first 3 hours WvW was in absolute chaos and we did take the lead for most of the tick. But the blob is back soon enough slightly weakened not because of bloodlust but rather there loss supply during the chaos. I know they are now just keeping us occupied until they hoard enough supply to feed the BLOB.
2. The masive JP (with no chest) in the middle of the borderland now hinders our tactics in scouting as our scouts now become the pray of the the 1v1’ers in the JP(with no chest).
3. We regularly fight the BLOB and have learnt the the one of the best ways to counter them is to be one step ahead of them and the JP (with on chest) now forces us on longer,slower and more dangerous routes while a 80 srtong BLOB just melt through our gates.

And if you are wondering why I call it the JP( with no chest) refer to point 1.

Honestly this patch was the best thing to happen to us roamers. Now roamers have a better and more defined purpose in WvW. To those who dislike following massive zergs and riding karma trains, WvW finally became fun. Stop moaning about the OPness and change, it’s not hard to take these capture points. If a zerg sits in the middle, it only gives an opening for enemy zergs to capture towers on the map. This middle was created for small group fighting. Don’t take that away from us.

IMO, you “roamers” should be the ones that HAVE to stay in the ruins to keep the buff.

These changes to WvW have pretty much killed off the last aspect of the game that I actually liked, I liked the idea of changing up the maps, but the lag that we are getting now is just to much, I thought T1 lag was bad, this is just stupid, I mean why even play when all you can do is spam 1 and half the time that don’t even work. I mean look how far gaming has come, I have a kick kitten gaming PC and I put a lot of money into it putting it together and I have a very nice graphics card in it that don’t even get used.

IMO, Anet has dropped the ball yet again, and you know why? They don’t know what we want, they don’t play with us, they don’t have moderators or Devs on every server playing in both PvE and WvW so they don’t know what all the communities want and what all of us like, and yes, we don’t like all the same stuff, but I know this, I have never seen a Anet employee in WvW on my server, not that I want one there, I don’t much care for Anet, I think they think they know it all, but they don’t, and this patch proves it.

yeah i very very much agree with this. i do like the maps now. they eem to be carefully designed and a fun little plygrounds with lots of hiding spots and little fields for nice battles.
but being on the server with the lowest coverage, it is a pain if the outnumbering enemy gets that much stronger.

I dislike the realm buff, plus there’s an incredible amount of server lag due to the bloodlust buff refreshing every x amount of time on every player on the map. I like what they made with the map though, the water just cause huge empty space in the middle of the BL, now there are alot more fights around this new area.

And yes, I know Anet employees show up at Meta events every once in awhile, but that isn’t playing with us, by playing with us I mean joining a guild, being part of a real server community and actually learning what that community thinks about their game. That’s playing with us.

Actually TC had an Anet guy in WvW pretty regularly, fighting alongside us. He even joined DIS at one point.
