Seeing just how disproportianate the off time scores are currently on per-effort and per fight basis vs. completely useless fluff such as “Add a WXP-gain sparkle trail” which in most cases will just add to visual clutter and be turned off anyways, its a no brainer.

I don’t think anyone in their right mind would pick the fluff over useful changes the game needed from the start unless they are either part of the crowd that will be brought in line and not have their running through empty maps give 10x the amount of points it should have, or are deliberate trolls that are either incapable or unwilling to actually play outside of a single or double empty map circle.

I would also include some extra “outnumbered” score adjustments while at it. Perhaps add a “local outnumbered” or tiered “map outnumbered” buff that would affect the scoring to at least some degree.

Some of the stuff such as cross-map chat is kinda nice, but no where near whats needed. With Alpine BL already coming back in next quarterly, it will be interesting to see how the servers without any off-time coverage will actually have a chance to go up.

The scoring change suggestions on the poll won’t solve scoring issues – it will just amplify the advantage of the “top” servers. The only way to cure scoring problems is to improve the coverage situation.
A higher and better distributed player base is the only real solution to coverage issues which is best dealt with improving QoL in WvW.
This means that the way to solve the scoring issues is NOT to vote for scoring but to vote for QoL instead – the direct approach to an issue isn’t always the best one.

What!? Right now that’s the case. Because strong servers have more people and they got people to play at nights. That’s why the night capping has been an issue. You cray

Scoring could change the game mode while those QoL changes won’t. I think if scores were more closer more people would login every day to try and keep them close and continue to fight. I feel that when matches are decided over a few days people go elsewhere during the week.

This, I’m hoping part of the lessening the score gap will have something to this effect in it. The outnumbered buff really is pointless as it is, extra magic find and exp when you have less chances to kill someone because there’s much more enemies around? No, give the outnumbered side some extra points for being able to take structures with lesser numbers is more fitting. Or give their siege some extra damage so they can either hold off the blobs, or be able to break into places a little faster.

Anet has no control over the population, players will play where they want to play and Anet only has some control on that, but they have full control over the scoring mechanics.

I’m not going to name any actual servers as some people seem to get upset when you do so I will do this generically:
Server X and Server Y have similar populations. Server X has most of it’s players on during “prime time”.
Server Y has less players on during “prime time” but slightly more players on at other times.
Currently the scoring system slightly favours Server Y, if the changes proposed are introduced they will considerably favour Server X.
Replacing a flawed system with an even more flawed system is not the answer.
As no two servers seem to have exactly the same coverage by time any scoring system which varies by time is always going to be unfair.

If both servers have the same amount of players but the other server happens to have more players at night and the people who play can keep their stuff with them will always have the upper hand. Being able to tick for approx 400+ for 6-9 hours is just cray cray. Thus it should be nerfed imo. Unless you think it’s ok that the match ups are decided when the majority of servers cant defend their stuff?
The people playing at night should be able to contribute towards their tick and points even after the change. Not having such a massive over hand compared to other servers is better.
But like I’ve said this is more of an EU issue and I feel bad for the oceanic players at NA if and when this goes through.
