alt+f4 to deny bloodlust stomp must stop !
I second this, had it few times today when i was roaming, downed someone and they alt+f4..
How about bloodlust not give +1 points to stomps. Radical.

Meh, I’m okay with people givin me free stomps. I can’t at all ever remember a match where the number of roamers that would alt-F4 would make the difference.

Stomping for points is one of the few ways a server with less coverage can compete with 24/7 servers. If you think unbalanced match up is a high priority fix, you should be behind this change 100%.

It almost sounds like a way for underpopulated servers that don’t have queues to have a small victory against the stacked servers.
Finally something for the low pop servers.

with 3 stacks of bloodlust it’s 3 points per stomped player, in comparison…
a camp gives 5 points per 15 minutes.
if you stomp 2 players you already have 6 points instantly.
this is the reason they alt+f4, the points add up quick
you can come from behind and beat a server if you manage your bloodlust properly
and get stomping.
Alt-F4 counts as a kill for the player in terms of WXP and loot … why wouldn’t it also count for points?

The server that’s behind doesn’t usually have the full three stacks of bloodlust, or even one or two, because they’re most likely outnumbered, so not sure how it’s going to help them win.
I’d argue that removing an enemy player from the game for 2-5 minutes is more valuable than a few extra points here and there.

it does count the kill and xp and all but if he alt+f4 you do not get the stomp and so you do not get the points.

if it was something that happens once I wouldn’t worry about it, losing 1-3 points here and there is nothing but, when you see it happening 10-15 times per hour in top tier servers you know something is up, and something has to be done about it !

Agreed. Just have disconnects while in combat count as a stomp. If it’s a legit dc that should be fairly even among all the servers and not change the overall scores in favor of one side or another.

Give reward on any kill not only stomping. Even if someone dies from falling damage(if he previously had been damaged by some enemy player and is still “in combat” and tries to fall to death on purpose).

Is true. I’m willin to put up with alt+F4 over not having a log out timer. Just the vote I’ll cast.
It’s 2 conveniences in my life versus a very questionable impact on the score.
tbh I don’t care how they do it, as long as they come up with a fix to it asap.
if not a logout timer, than anything but do something about it, this is by no means an isolated 1-2 points issue it is happening more and more as people figure it out, and these points rack up quickly losing 15 stomps in this exploitative manner means losing as many as anywhere from 15-45 points, considering that objectives only give a fixed point amount per 15 minutes this becomes a big loss of points in a very short amount of time, 15 stomps happen in a matter of 3-5 minutes.

Logout timers would be annoying. And personally I don’t give a crap about the score. As long as I still get my loot and wxp if they ragequit, I can care less if they decide to leave.

If ANET wants to fix it the solution is pretty simple. Add it to the list of things that happen when someone logs out while downed. They already made it so they drop loot and provide xp, just add PPT to that list.

I was winning, but since neither of these professions can be caught if they dont want to, they just run away and deny me points. And Warriors can also Vengeance to deny points, Elementalists can run into towers/keeps or water to deny points.
I insist i get my loot and points when the person im fighting runs away and leaves combat! If you want to take away some people’s ability to deny points when losing a fight, then take away everyones ability to deny points when losing a fight.

Really guys? We’re going to give the OP a hard time because there is an obvious exploit to a game system and he took the time to report it? Even if there are larger issues in WvW at the moment (which we all know there are), there is NO reason to jump on the OP. It’s not as if the bug is his fault, and he is absolutely justified in saying something needs to be done about it.
@OP This does need to be fixed. There is a similar bug with WxP being denied every time an Elementalist uses Mist Form in downed state that’s been around since WxP was implemented. Hopefully they’re keeping a list of all these ‘minor’ bugs and are working through them.
I doubt they can add just a log out timer for just WvW, and if they added it for everyone, then someone else would complain about it. You are basically saying to waste someones time/punish them from closing out their game (which I’ve had times i had to go and close off my game quickly).
TL:DR
Yes it can be a problem but I don’t think the solution is just that simple. As well as this really only affects the top tiers, so I don’t think its a major issue. Sorry for your bad luck.

A timer would HAVE to be added if you manually exit the game. The game can lag and crash quite easily in higher servers that would be a NIGHTMARE if someone crashed and then found out they had a timer….
Simple solution. If server ‘1’ has bloodlust, “Disconnections from server ‘2’, or ‘3’ while the player is in downed” = +1 point to server ‘1’ if they last damage in combat log
No avoiding it. And it covers those who accidentally disconnect while randomly running.
And those who accidentally disconnect while you were downed and your friends would have res’d you, are the very rare minority. Not worth complaining about. Simple fix.

To be honest, if I see someone like that it’s 10 times more satisfying than finishing my enemy. I mean, that guy has to restart the game, just because he can’t take the loss.
