why must people persist in defend something that’s just going to reset every 4 hrs just for a supply depot to drop in your home color?
I understand this supply depot helps but it’s not that much of any help at all to me. it’s better to just run and take stuff fast to level alt’s but most importantly your wxp for upgrades like seige mastery to help take/defend for your home world

It’s usually only overgrowth doing this. They outnumber easily and SFR which is usually green has commanders playing EoTM about 24/7. They seem to prefer hunting upscaled players. So it’s not really about defending the point, more to kill an easy 10-15 players with a blob of 40-50ish. I guess if you hit a full map on either blue/red side it’ll be alright and you can wipe them 1-2 times they won’t try again.

I mainly defend so you can’t cap.

It’s better to just take stuff? Its a matter of perspective. It’s more profitable to run and take stuff yes. it’s more fun to to wipe a Ktrain with 1-3 people than it is to ktrain for me

Its wvw its ment to beAttacking/defending and Killing each other.
Its not ment to be a KARMA TRAIN 24/7.

Its not ment as a WxP/Karma farm so why do people come here to cry about it.

If you don’t wanne die by other players don’t go into eny Pvp type gamemode & stay pve.

Because Lootbags > PvD

Defending stuff in EotM promotes innovation, if the other side doesn’t innovate then they don’t get to cap

Because they enjoy having fun their way in a game they purchased themselves.

Also, 4 hours can be kind of a relief, no one week long matches where you loose everything during the night anyway etcetera.

Defending in EotM.
Free loot bags, extra supply depot, (Which can be very beneficial), testing vs. Zerg tactics, and it provides a sort of relief from normal WvW.

Ultimate Dominator title.
Trolling people.
Practice for real WvW.
Boredom from the current matchup.

Plenty of reasons.

ahh it’s not about being killed by another player someone is always better/less lag, and i wasn’t crying just wondering why.

There was no opinion with a question mark at the end my question was clearly stated at the beginning then ended with a question mark, I then wrote my opinion to let you know why i was even asking.

it did appear to me that your question came with 2 opinions within it.

Note the words , must persist and Just. You appear to be stating they are persisting in a meaningless action. Then asking why….

IMHO, “Why do people choose to defend in Eotm?” would have been a better question.

There are people who derive enjoyment from griefing others and they feel superior when they manage to kill 10-20 uplevels with a canon or AC. Very skill, much hero, wow! Some are even self-righteous about it and claim they are “protecting the game mode”; it’s hillarious. And I see now that some people even claim this is “training for real wvw”; it’s like saying you do maize balm farm to train for fractal mobs. I think someone mentioned it provides relief from actual WvW; this is understandable since WvW is as it is and EotM is more diverse and the combination of ktrain, uplevels and very easy to defend objectives can make an experienced WvW defender insanely effective, but his relief comes at the expense of others who do not wish to fight him; I guess that’s just not relevant.

In the end, people will do as they please and if they choose to defend, it’s their choice and it’s permitted and you can’t do anything about it. You can either avoid them or find a different eotm overflow to keep ktraining, Fighting them is nigh pointless, they have an immense advantage. Don’t feed the trolls. Let them rot in that tower or keep, they are not worth the time it takes to cap through their barrage; plenty of other objectives to cap in the meantime. Loot (or, more accurately, levels) must flow.

actually when I said practice for real WvW I’m talking more about learning how to position yourself. Learning how to react to sudden changes in direction. Veil placement, cc placement etc. Not actual learning how to fight. It’s a low risk environment.

I’d rather win a real fight. EotM is unsuitable for good fights so why use it as anything other than pve farming? The only reason to fight in EotM is because you’d lose in real WvW.
