WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
Sorry if this sounds out of topic, but if I didn’t play last week round (because I just got back from my trip) is that mean I can’t get the title? Thanks !
Yes
Honestly It got me helping out in wvw. Takes me about10 mins to get. But by then Im following a commander on ts taking orders yelling “jq zerg ne camp!!!!!” or something. not sure im helping but I carry supply and yell retreat like a mothertrucker. Then 2 hours have passed and I really should be doing something else.
Next season leave out EotM for achievement completion. Make the 5 a bit harder and more involved. Say “Capture/Defend Stonemist” to at least put forth some effort.
Because on alot of servers, WvW doesn’t need PvE players. It needs Queues to be free from PvE players who are there to farm achievements and lose points for their server rather than play WvW.
“a lot of servers”? 6 out of 24? Maybe 9? According to my calculations, we’re still the majority of the servers…
More like 3.

My main issue with this new way of doing WvW Achievements is that it’s pulling in the exact OPPOSITE way of where the PvE seems to be going; NOT forcing people to have to be able to log in during specific dates in order to get the achievement(s).
I’ve been on vacation for 2 weeks, meaning I have no chance of completing the meta, and thus no chance of getting the title and no chance of getting the max ammount of tickets, no matter ho much I participate or work my kitten off the remaining time of the Tournament. I can put in 10 times more time and work in the remaining weeks and get less rewards than my guildie that spends a total of 2 hours killing Dolyaks. NOT FAIR.
Also, making people do 5 events is bullkitten. You’re not gonna “increase” participation in WvW by reducing the ammount of time and/or effort needed to do the achievements.
Am I gonna have to plan my vacations around Guild Wars 2 if I want to be able to get the titles? Then give me a 100% accurate time schedule for the upcoming year because vacations that include travelling need to be booked in advance…
Basically, compare the ascended necks. One one side you need 10 dailies + a monthly + 50 ectos, while on the other hand you need 10 minutes to get it. Titles and ascended items, tournament achievements need to be earned. How do 5 events even contribute to a world in wvw, it’s crazy. And if you don’t want people to be farming achievements, add ones that make sense, such as “capture 20 towers, capture 5 keeps, kill lords, bla bla”.
I admit that I’ve actually taken part in WvW this time during a tournament, because the achievements are low enough that it can get a ‘foot in the door’ for the semi-regulars like myself (usually roam Militia style these days, not partied, but trying to stay within a group). Plus my wrists don’t immediately seize up in pain just looking at some extremely long list, like the last two – during those I left the game completely for other things.
But the complaints that ‘this is too few’ still has merit, since you included EotM as a valid source of events. Granted, I used that world map on the first week, but it was a long time since I did any PvP maps, and wanted to get back in the groove first. Had a very fun time that night too – never thought there would be an actual 3-way on EotM, but it happened for once.
The two main suggestions I’ve seen so far (either more events if EotM included, or less when removing it) are good to me. I regularly completed large swaths of the Monthly (like events and kills) in a couple 2-hour WvW sessions – relatively casual compared to most people posting here. So raising the weekly event requirement (even a little) is fine with me too.

Agreed. While the weekly time gated events encourage people to play during the entire tournament, someone who misses a week for whatever reason, if they’re aiming strictly for the meta, then has absolutely no reason to continue participating afterwards.
My suggestion is a combination of both this and last seasons achievements. Have a set of weekly “do x number of events” achievements that offer no AP. I’d say more than 5 events, but it could still be low. People who are able to log in every week can get it done easily and without grinding. However, there should also be a few grindy, more difficult achievements that can be done at any point. “Kill X number of Y” or “Capture X number of Y.” These can offer achievement points. The meta will only require as many achievements as there are weeks, but all achievements count towards it.
This way, you have options, all of which are rewarding. If you’re a wvw player, you can continue on as you usually do. You’ll get your title and tickets with no trouble at all, and some bonus AP since you’ll likely get the extra achievements just by playing. If you’re only there for the title/rewards, you can log into wvw for a little each week, and get it done without any grind. If you just want AP, you’ll have to do a little extra work, but you’ll effectively be getting free rewards on top of it in the form of wvw tickets (since you’ll no doubt complete the needed number of events for at least one week). And if you’re looking to get the meta but miss a week, you’re not locked out. In fact, you’re then encouraged to play even more since you’ll have to do one of the more time consuming achievements to replace the missed week. I feel this kind of setup would satisfy everyone.
Well I will be getting some weapon exotics.. for skins… this game has too much skins… its all about the skins…
Make achievements for Seasons related to player kills not PvE stuff. At least the band wagoners will have to help making some kills:-)
Agree that getting the achievement is quite easy this time. Still I am happy about it because I don’t have much time to play and now I still can get them when playing for one or two hours.
Spent 2 weeks moving and another several days deathly ill. I missed out on two weeks and am unable to get the title now. This is the first title for tournaments I will miss.
I know it’s not a huge deal, but I am disappointed with the way the meta achievement is handled this time.
Easier Achievements shorter Que. I’m ok with it.
Greezzz
the real sad thing is, i was so excited about legions of archievement hunters THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SPARTA^^
I for one am extremely happy about these achievements. In T1, we have enough queues as it is. 5 events a week is doable in 10-20 minutes for more or less anyone who has a brain, and after that, they leave (not entirely true, but it would have been SO much worse if it was different).
