who else wants pve mobs out of wvw?
Those pve creatuers are just fine as they are for to help level up and to fill in some of the space on the map.

I want less animals and many, many more patrolling guards. It should feel like areas are controlled by a faction, not just be random cap locations in the middle of nowhere where are couple of guards are lazily sleeping on their post.
Best suggestion ever, especially in areas where there are multiple caps ( tower + camp + keep) I think this would be a great way to mix things up so it’s not a full-on zerg fest as you’d need players cleaning up NPCs more.
What? This would mean more zerging! Small groups would be crippled serverly by having to take out even more PvE trash. Zergs could just roll right through like nothing’s there. This is a terrible idea. More NPCs, more PvE, more of the unfun CHORES to get through before actually playing WvW
WvW is not PvP only! It’s PvP/PvE together.
Terrible that youre ok with that. Good god go back to dungeons.
This is the way it’s been since the game released.

yeah but, its the Mist why do we have common mobs there? since mist worklike FoW or UW, it would be more eye candy if it have is own biome and mobs.
I don’t think WvW is in the Mist. It’s in the Sea of Sorrows and is on the PvE world map.

What PvE mobs do you find yourself having to deal with currently outside of sentries and camp/tower/keep guards? You can pretty easily avoid everything.
In my opinion, adding patrolling guards on routes and roaming NPCs would spice things up for people who like to roam solo or in packs of 2-4. The reward should be there for such actions too, of course, but I don’t think adding server loyal NPCs is a bad thing.
What Anet needs to consider is adding heroes into the game to compensate for lack of players. The game needs to be balanced out. Perhaps each side that has 1 less player gets 2 NPC to compensate and follow them around. It will help create bigger zergs and we can then have zerg vs zerg. NPC will attack the same target as the outmanned person that they get assigned to from spawn. Each player will get 2 NPC assigned for 1 player less. Each of the NPC should be equivalent to the strength of Seigerazer.
I want pve mobs to have a strategic function.
Hylek, dredge, ogres are perfect.
‘Normal’ animals should have a trigger to start spouting cc if a group passes: the bigger the group, the longer the cc and harder to kill these animals are.
Guards should scale on player proximity, like bosses.
More players and they hit like champions, less players and they hit like veterans.
And yes: big patrols would be great, IF they scale on player numbers!
And lastly: the champions, the devourers of player forces, like the Grub, Spirit, Harpy.
They should have a clear strategic reason to be killed. Let them attack camps for example, or break down walls. Let them sense any big zerg in their wide proximity and attack that very zerg.
I see 2 possibilities here:
1. give all npc’s and pve a function in the pvp strategy
2. use npc’s to discourage zerging
I like the mobs, they add tactical and unknown factors in fights; I’d like to see more difficult mobs added actually.
Anyone against the mobs in now is just use to the fake pvp battlegrounds created by other games……buncha carebears.
I also like most of the mobs, not only do they add unknown factors to a fight, they make the zones seem a bit more alive, and give player sentries something to kill while watching their posts.
Saying they all should be removed sounds a lot like the folks who insist Super Smash Brothers would be a better game with no items and only final destination for map choice. Knowing how to use your environment to your advantage, and take advantage of opportunities that arise from chance is a skill too ya know.
I do kinda see where folks are coming from with the spirit and grub though, while I’m not sure they should be removed entirely they should probably be weakened, or their locations randomized.
They can both distract pug zergs for quite some time, and give southwest side an advantage because of that since they don’t have a comparable distraction. Mosquitoes doesn’t even come close.
No..I want my stacks and bad players need mobs to rally off of.
I want them out or at least non-red colored names and not part of the targeting system. They should not be affected by AoE’s unless targeted.
PvE doesn’t belong in PvP, Anet.
WvW isn’t PvP, PvP is PvP. WvW is WvW, which is large scale PvP in a PvE environment. Most of the time (until the retal/confusion changes in the last update), PvE rules (skill balancing) also apply in WvW, not PvP rules.
Annoys me the fact that they can be tagged to get out of downed, used to power up Sigils and, honestly, they should spread em out a bit since the maps are already tiny as they are anyway.
