Super pumped for season 2 and haven’t really heard any news or information regarding this…. anyone know when the new living story will be coming back around?

Not a huge pvp fan (usually fps games for me) so my play time has been limited since no new content has been out.

I really miss the living story. It’s scary that we haven’t heard anything at all….

I don’t miss it. Please add more lasting content you can actually enjoy if you are not able to play the game during long (a month) time period.

I don’t care if the LS -ever- comes back, unless they really get it together on the quality-of-writing front.

You know what DOES need to come back, though? Weekly announcements every Tuesday. Even if they aren’t ready to release anything! I wish they’d just let us know what’s going on. Type a little paragraph up about whatever you’re working on, no biggie!

i’m hoping we’ll get a dragonbash, some transitional story.. small updates for awhile, then BooM! we get to western tyria and mordremoth is already dead >:p or in a conflict with the regional people, new races, new strategies, do they hate our sylvari? do We hate our sylvari… expansion grade content ^_^

I imagine a great deal of initial planning is needed for the next LS season. Especially if they want to prove the nay-sayers wrong. Also adding in the chinese servers is a massive endeavor that is likely to take up Anet’s resources for the foreseeable future. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything until the end of the month minimum.

I’m really hoping for some new permanent zones, though. I dare say we have been waiting long enough since southsun.

Just a educated guess, the living story will resume in June.

All of Anet is concentrating on Chine/Asia now, hence the silence. Its understandable since they want there China/Asia customers to have a good 1st impression of GW2 as we had here in the West.

I believe they are going to sync the living story across NA/EU/China/Asia, so we all get it at the same time. So June is the likely time Living Story will start up again. China/Asia players will have 80’s by then or be well on there way and WvW season ends at the end of May.

Not getting an anoouncement today does really mean we won’t be getting any new content until June at the least. They always do a preview two weeks before meaning the earliest new patch would be June 3rd. Bummer.

I hope they’ve reconsidered the failure of the Season 1 Living Story and the pause/silence that you mention is the result of preparation for… an expansion!!! Hell yeah!

It is an absolute waste of resources by anet that could be going into making actual, expansion like content (skills, dungs, you know, meaningful content)

Living story doesn’t add anything to this game besides well… a story… some skins here and there, maybe some back peices lol? nothing else. Period.
People just play the Living Story the first couple days and than leave lol. Its utterly pointless. People who are Achivement point hunters simply play it to get their points and be done with it

It was a nice try by Anet, but it was without a doubt, a failure.
I prefer having actual xpac like content over another year of this dull story, just my opinion, but i know a lot of others share it.
And no, we can’t have both. Anet is not exactly swimming in resource availability to do both Living story + new xpac content

I miss it so much.

I thought that the latter part of Season 1 was stellar, the content fun and varied and the rewards worth chasing. I miss having such regular content too. I think I’d begun to take it for granted, because now it’s gone, I find myself feeling a little bereft. This wait is killing me. Every Tuesday I quietly hope that we’ll get a preview article but honestly, I do think the wait is set to go on for a few more weeks at least. It does seem logical to start things up after the WvW Season.

It would be awesome to get word on when things are set to renew though. A target date would give me something to look forward to.

While I would love new zones/skills/dungeons, I also loved the living story. Normal Xpacks you wait a year to get two months (maximum) of content. Living Story you wait two weeks to get a few days, I like the constant flow much more than the longer waits/playtimes. Diablo 3 released an Xpack in March and I am nearly done playing it and will shelve the game until they release a new Xpack since thats how they do big content.

I do miss it. Lasting content is stealth for “content” that is a ghost land which nobody really goes back to anymore. I actually enjoy content that is relevant when I log in every so often jumping into the action.

Actually most of the time we got the preview one week before the content.

Week 1: Preview of content A
Week 2: Content A
Week 3: Preview of content B
Week 4: Content B

And so on.
