So after thinking about how lame “Great Jungle Wurm Slayer” sounds after spending a week to kill such an epic boss encounter, I wanted to open up a discussion about suggestions on a new and interesting title to take it’s place.

My suggestion would be, “The Troubleshooter”

Perhaps even adding it as a separate title for defeating all three wurms at the same time.

More like: “I queued to the main map for a week and all I got was this lousy title.”

Imo, it is pretty lame. It couldn’t be more literal.

I like Tequatl’s, because “The Sunbringer” sounds pretty cool.

I like “kitten!!! 3 headed worm. Lets stand around for a week waiting to kill it”

How about “Where’s the Tail?!” or maybe “Extreme Gardener”

The grey note under the title on the archivement panel should say “We came a long way from killing the wurm queen next to Ashford Abbey…”

Or this title “After 1337 fails and no-lifing, the beast is slain”.

I don’t really like the title either, because for the past year “jungle worm” equaled the boss in Caledon Forest.

They should have given the new mega boss a distinctive name, and used either that in the title, or something story-related like “Sunbringer”. (Yes, I also really like “Sunbringer”.)

Secondly, we now have an achievement called “Worm Slayer” (kill 5000 worms) and one called “Wormslayer” (new mega boss achievement). Sloppy! The new achievement should’ve been called something different as well.

Ironically, slaying the boss is not required for any of the achievements even though it is quite challenging.

First of all, Wurmslayer (killing all 3 heads) can be counter-productive towards victory. I’ve seen some runs ruined simply because groups of players wanted their achievement for the other head. Thus, once they were done with Phase 1, they’d run over to whatever head they needed for Phase 2.

Achievements should never conflict with victory, otherwise there will be unnecessary tension between wanting to progress their characters versus actually beat the fight.

Most of us would say that the ancient jungle wurm is a more difficult encounter to defeat than Teqautl, and therefor should have a title that rivals it in distinction. “The Troubleshooter” adequately describes our struggles the past week in participating in this new territory GW2 is heading into, as well as reflects the name of the meta achievement. Being rewarded a specific title for defeating all three wurms together would be even better.

Either way, I would more proudly use The Troubleshooter as my character’s title.

“The Troubleshooter” reflects the level of head-scratching all servers and guilds are having to do to complete this fight. Its not easy and requires some real thought! Please make this small thing happen for us Mr.Arenanet-san.

I am afraid that “The Troubleshooter” will be misinterpreted by new players and people with that title will be constantly whispered to for personal help requests.

I agree that The Troubleshooter would be the most appropriate title for this. I really hope that next time they will test more and with proper number of people and all combinations and all that…

Worm is not the same as Wurm.

Worm – a normal worm
Wurm – a giant worm
Wyrm – a dragon, nothing to do with worms

Yeah, I misspelled. They’re actually called “Wurmslayer” and “Wurm Slayer”. Still the same amount of sloppy.

Yes! Please! I think Troubleshooter would be a great title for this. Or perhaps Triple Trouble. Troubleshooter’s better though.

Please consider changing the current title. I did the event for fun, but it was hugely challenging to bring down all 3 so I would love a title for the time spent. One that doesn’t make it sound like we just went and zerged the Giant Jungle Wurm in Caledon Forest.
