Why the teleporting reset?
I haven’t been able to log on for a while and now I have to restart the whole tower climb because of this, when all I need is the last little bit. Sadly there is barely enough people ruining to pass a level let alone run the whole tower at this point.
Five players can do the entire tower. Another alternative is to guest on high population servers.
The short answer as to why is that Anet just seized on another opportunity to prove that they are collectively incompetent at executing and updating new content in a way compatible with basic common sense.
I have no idea why they have (Decided ?) to do this, whatever the reason is, they ain’t saying.
Like a lot of other things (ie. TP error ? when selling, or the female walkin ? bug) they seem to not want to comment about.
Seems to be that they prefer just to ignore people until they give up posting about it.

I doubt it was intentional. Probably some random bug that wiped out progress and can’t really be reversed (because if the progress got wiped, they have no way of determining how much “progress” needs to be returned, no way to know if player A got to floor 3 or never even entered the place for instance). The only thing they could do is give everyone level 3 for free, but they probably don’t want people who didn’t make it that high to skip to that point.
Of course they would know where you are in the progress. Or at least, if you have gotten the full achievement – if you have that, in all likelihood, you climbed all three levels. In fact, they should just give everyone access to all three rather than deny the ones that legitimately did it.

Anet does this frequently, and it honestly just illustrated a gross incompetence. They claim they cant tell if you have progress on something, so t hey cant fix it, even though you have achievements that prove exactly how far you have gotten. It’s just the hallmark of a lazy publisher or developer resting on its laurels and riding the wave of a successful game, knowing they dont need to actually give a crap about their players because most will keep playing despite being repeatedly insulted by their feigned ignorance. Sadly, I’m one of them. As much as this upsets me, I enjoy the game too much to take a stand against this nonsense and stop playing out of spite.
I’d be okay with most of these accidents if anybody bothered to comment as much as an “oops, we didn’t mean to” about it. Things go wrong all the time, but the silence is just insulting.
To clarify, any of these would be totally fine with me:
- “We didn’t mean for this to happen, and we’re looking at ways to fix it / compensate / future solutions / …”
- “We didn’t mean for this to happen, and we’re sorry, but won’t fix it now due to budget / being busy / …”
- “We totally meant for this to happen and hope to communicate such changes better in advance in the future”
This is not ok:
- Silence… = “lol deal with it”

This really gets to me as well…………..
There’s a number of issues posted on the forums they don’t seem to want comment on
and the “lol deal with it” is really how they seem to be dealing with it, not a good advert for customer care and relations…………..
The targeting.
The female running animation.
The TP “Error” when selling “bug ?”.
Just to mention those 3, there are more where a simple “Yeah we did it” or “We did it because” would go a long way.
Not the “Tough deal with it and people will stop posting about it” attitude.
At 3.5 million sales the first year, or approximately $210 Million in sales of the game alone, not counting Jewels, etc… That definitely leaves enough to hire someone to say
“Oops, That was an unexpected occurrence, however since so many players have completed this content, it will remain. This is a good opportunity to discover how guesting works for those how haven’t finished yet”.
However I suspect this was intended as original content that didn’t make it in before launch. If so, the decision to add it later was an exceptionally poor choice.
If I read correctly from NCsoft report: GW2 – down 15.3% QoQ, down 46.6% YoY. Aww.
Back on topic: I noticed this too. I wish they’d make something and not break it. Fewer people want to run the tower now and I feel bad for those players who have limited time to play. When did it start?
Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.
