Are red warning circles really necessary (PvP)?
AoEs arent for skirmish 1v1s, theyre for putting on a point and watching people explode. The best way to use them in skirmish 1v1s are either place them on yourself vs a melee or immobilize and place on them if they are ranged.
I’m not sure what I said that gave you the impression I was talking specifically about 1v1 skirmishes. I simply don’t understand why 60% of our skills require a red warning circle IN ADDITION to the 1-3 second delay and special effect visual clues. Is our class so insanely overpowered that if we were actually able to land the majority of our skills the entire game balance would collapse?

Yes I don’t agree with the red circles for Aoe spells, siege weapons yes, individual Aoe abilities no, the thing is though we would have or to have cast bars so that way a player could be rewarded by skill of recognizing an enemy cast instead of oh a red circle on the ground, dodge. They are definitely needed for PVE and dungeons as well because good luck trying to survive lupicus with random Aoe and no idea where lol.

Because they won’t take them away for just one profession, they would nix them for every profession’s AOEs, and I like knowing when to dodge and where. You’ll really be glad they’re there if you’re the one fighting the elementalist.
Honestly they should be removed from all professions, ofc siege weapons and such should still have them but I don’t see the point in PvP, thats just the game telling you don’t stand there.
They should probably keep them in PvE/Dungeons though.

So then how would you tell apart friendly and enemy aoe in a large fight? The combo field border?
AFAIK the treb and cannon in sPvP don’t have warning circles, I would like to see them added.

I’m assuming the main spell you’re talking about is Eruption. In beta it used to have almost twice the radius it has now to make up for the massive delay, and it was really good then. Now it’s pretty much useless IMO just because it’s so tiny on top of the delay.
Many AoEs do not have clear edges to them, you wouldn’t be able to tell whose team their from, and honestly, this game needs all the visual clarity it can get. It’s already hard enough to tell what’s going on in a 5v5 battle.
