D/D Celestial Ele is like Hambow Warrior. High sustain and burning damage along with good direct melee damage after might stacking (~16 stacks). You come into teamfights to do moderate damage and teamfight support. You can also hold your own in side point 1v1s. Usually full cantrips for survivability. The jack of all trades build really.

S/F Zerker Ele is a teamfight build where you rotate to existing fights and spike squishy targets. It is less than viable right now but offers instantaneous, undodgeable damage in your instants, and a heavy, telegraphed spike in your Fire attunement. Mostly ledge for safety (very trainable). Uses arcane skills or frost bow along with one or two cantrips.

Staff Celestial Ele is a bunker spec with very high sustain but predictable rotations and hard to land ground target skills. Has excellent area control but is a different playstyle. Uses arcane brilliance.
Staff Jihad Ele is almost extinct. But they offer insane on-point damage that can even crack bunkers. Full Zerker and usually 6 points each in Fire and Air.
S/D one shot Ele uses Tempest Defense and attempts to down people within one of their long CD control skills. Pretty Yolo. Usually double arcane lightning flash. This is one of those specs that can put out 10k Fire Grabs (assuming you live long enough to stack might…).
I don’t like long combos because they don’t help you with adaptability, but this spec has nothing outside of it and is basically DEPENDENT on your muscle memory, so… here goes.
Example burst: Start in Earth: Barrier -> Cast Barrier -> Earthquake + Lightning Flash -> Fire Swap -> Phoenix + Double Arcane -> Fire Grab + Air Swap + Lightning Strike
You can Earth -> Air (Updraft) -> Fire -> Air but you use up all your CC in one go. Stability and invulns, along with immediate stunbreak + dodge will ruin you.
Need that surprise factor to land your surprise Phoenixes (which can do 12k).

As for myself, depending on situations I happen to roam quite a lot with my staff, although i’m much more useful in midfights. Roaming thieves are the only threat out there but i can at least slow them down and delay their actions if they manage to kill me.
I gave a try to bunker staff, but it takes so long to kill anyone i found that boring. I’m more comfortable with 6 in fire and air.

Some don’t even take Blasting Staff so that Meteor Shower hits people on small points more consistently. Will be viable for Foefire though.
You don’t need Arcane Blast. You are carrying out the Jihad. Drop that single target skill for Arcane Power (for when you just need that Meteor crit) or Frost Bow just because you can (great for when you must have that downed body cleave). Take Arcane Mastery for your well, Arcane-oriented skills.
Drop Pyromancer’s Alacrity for Burning Fire if you take Brilliance. Else Ether Renewal may be better (healing and stuff good for when you get splash damage. Still doesn’t help with being focussed).
You can put points in Water for Cantrips so you can run away with LF and FGS, but it’s up to you.
Drop Traveler for Pack or Strength. Trust me, makes no difference when Thief decides to train you. Sigil of Battle and Fire/Doom.
Try Blinding Ashes if you are insane/confident and want to 1v1 somewhat with that… build.

Thanks Ralkuth for your input, i’ve also tried the playstyle of Diva’s posted video last night and it was awesome. i needed to practice some more, arcane blast i think is helpful for those annoying thieves. i am switching from blasting staff to arcane mastery based on the situation and map.

Yep, that was me playing a “Jihad ele”, I just love playing that way if I’m having a good team to carry me well which I normally do, cause it’s really important that your team mates know your strength and weaknesses otherwise it’s just a gamble if you take it to play with pugs. Good luck !!
