I keep seeing eles who use staff and has this massive AOE damage with meteor shower, anyone got a good build for staff I could use that has fairly good sustain or good dps?

I run Celestial amulet with Pirate Runes- 3 cantrips and Ether renewal. sigils I usually use battle/energy or doom/energy.

Good balance of support and damage. I have good success with is soloQing.

Pack or Pirate runes? How good are Pirate runes?

I like Pirate because the bird helps boost my damage a little- since we have so many aoe heals it tends to stay up rather well.

Yeahh I mostly play the Jihad staff ele build i.e 6,6,0,0,2 with Pirate runes, Lightening Rod trait in place of shocking aura. Signet of earth is highly recommendable as well in this build. :-)

I wouldn’t recommend this for my worst enemy. That build is the definition of a rallybot.

On the topic – Pirate is good for 1v1s on sidenodes as it will add some single target damage you need because nearly every skill you have is a slow AoE. But if you want to teamfight a lot take Hoelbrak, the pet would die too fast in the AoE pressure. You can pretty much find every viable build for Pvp at metabattle, that should help.

Those are glass cannon staff eles.

I think the two most prominent staff builds are a healer/bunker staff ele (Cleric’s, 0/x/x/6/6), and the glass cannon staff ele (Zerker’s, 6/6/0/0/2, or 6/2/0/0/6 if you use arcane). For the glass build, Runes of the Scholar or Runes of Strength are pretty good.

Forget about it. Seriously. Zerker staff is a PvE build.

Try Frost-Bow! Especially in organized teams coordinated use of frostbow CC and AoE can be devastating.

Diva’s glass cannon build is pretty good, tho it’s not really viable in high lvl pvp. You really need to know how to position yourself tho.

The standard cantrip build also works for staff ele. It’s a good bunker build, although the dmg is kinda lacking imo

Nobody will let you freecast as zerker ele the moment they see how much damage you take and how much you deal. However against bad enemies you can basically wipe 5 people with meteor shower.

I play Celestial/3 Cantrip staff like I mentioned earlier. The damage isn’t as low as you’d think. If you run doom sigil with Pirate, you do a lot of damage over time. You can outsustain like crazy, and the more sustain you have, the more doom really starts to shine.

Hoelbrak, as mentioned earlier, is another great choice.
