So, the weekly Guild Wars 2 Guru’s Master of the Mists tPvP Tournament is going on right now and there are several devs in the livestream chat, and they have given us a bit of a spoiler regarding the upcoming balance patch – I’ve copied and pasted the related quotes here:

I’m crossing my fingers that they don’t destroy my build by trying to improve it.
Meh, two are extremely similar, and I know scepter/dagger burst is used in high level play, but as far as burst damage goes, it’s pretty lackluster compared to other classes. (Static Discharge engi, dagger/dagger necro, etc.)
Necros are terrible in PvP. They might have some decent burst, but they have no survivability. A burst ele can still survive very well. A burst s/d ele still has 20 points in water, heals every time they switch to water, 2 healing weapon abilities, PLUS our normal heal. And it’s great burst if you’re able to land it all. fire 2, 4, 3+ Earth Swap Arcane Wave Earth 4+ Air swap Air 2 is pretty much a 1 shot combo that gives your entire party 12 stacks of might for 20 seconds.
Well, if your team can prevent the ele from taking 1325.5 damage, then yes, s/d burst eles are pretty good.
I admit, I don’t know nor care much about tPvP (I’m really only concerned with duels and WvW), so if you say they’re worth taking for burst damage over any other class, I’ll take your word for it. Perhaps the roles in tPvP are why you say aurashare plays so differently from a bunker, as well.
The Burst Ele still has great survivability. We still spec 20 points into water and 30 into arcane, so we have plenty of heals and regen. With good positioning, staying alive isnt a problem. The burst isn’t quite that of a thief or a shatter mesmer, but we really do have a one kitten combo, it’s just tough to land.
Aura share builds generally focus on 100% fury and swiftness uptime for the entire party. To do this, they use the two auras that can be cast, as well as magentic leap through ring of fire. Mixing this with boon uptime runes lead to a very well balanced support build. The build can still put out solid damage, as well as hold down a point until helps arrive. They also have the movement of a typical dagger ele. The d/d aura build is probably the truest jack-of-all-trades build in the game.
Well dont be surprised if you see zephyrs boon becoming gm or master trait.. and getting some crap in its place !

I meant that the ele will lose their 20% damage bonus if they take 1325.5 damage, so a team would pretty much need to babysit them to prevent that from happening.
Dunno why you brought up aurashare. Like I said, it might have a different role in sPvP, but in combat it plays like any old bunker build.

I would be suprised to see that actually nobody would go 30 points in air for that at gm.

Ye, they should just stop messing around with us. You guys screwed me over enough already, just stop it. Stay away from my traits with your attempts of ‘improving’ them, chances are you’re just gonna mess them up as well.
