[Suggestion] Flame Strike
Three main problems:
1. This would be incredibly confusing and annoying to play against. People would constantly get lost (even though its a short teleport).
2. You KNOW this would bug people out and stick them in the terrain a LOT. Mesmers still sometimes have problem with phase retreat and swap.
3. This would be OPAF in pvp: decap ele just has to spam 1 with fire scepter, then heal heal heal all day.
What could be interesting is, say, a trait in arcana or maybe fire that increased your strafing/backup speed (probably with some other kind of benefit) so that you can better rely on positioning to survive.

1. Teleport back, but w/o turning them about face. Indeed it would be looking like you’re lagged and like you keep trying catch something and your hand is always too far.
2. Major flawn of that suggestion. Even though they are still working at it.
3. What is the node size? My first though to counter is stand in edge of node in the closest distance too ele. Pressing w after get hit from flamestrike, 1s too to correct positioning before next teleport. I could think about chain aa. Flamestrike>Flameport, but not neccessary want it. You can be death before you end cast of first flamestrike.

Its suggestion about teleporting enemy for 180 range back every 1s with aa in fire attunement using scepter on ele. Additionaly don’t know about how balanced and in what tier of balance would be instant thoot.
while it does sound ridiculous at first glance, it’s actually more reasonable than you’re giving it credit. 180 units is not much distance. And flamestrike is slow. Even if it is spammable, think about it. How are you going to decap anything with this? Decap knockbacks work because they also CC you. This ele is spending a full 1-1.5 seconds doing nothing but moving you back half the distance you can move in that time. It has more in common with a 1.5 second cripple than any kind of decap. It doesn’t interrupt casts or anything. You’re still completely free to attack while the ele is barely doing anything to you.

Teleport away enemy on aa is not good/bad/balanced/inbalanced in itself as long as how far teleport and about what aa we’re talking about.
About way out of theme – enemy poof in fire – its isn’t so off cosidering poof’ing with lightning or with butterflies or eating rotten wurm or divine-fire powered poof to enemy or shadowy poof around or shiro one.
Countinuing about way out of theme – other things about what scepter could gain were – blocks / evades – making more concerns with balance or teleport self which would destroy that standsteady nuke impression, ofc teleport could be seen on pheonix as agressive version or on water trident with making water pond that you can travel once more between where it was casted to and from, or ride evading on dust earth 3, but pretty much don’t want them.
There could be utility called Blaze tongue – teleport instantly enemy to your nearest fire combo field or maybe it could be fire attunement weapons skill for example focus 5. Something like: tooth>flamewall>blazetongue>pheonix. It would make scepter more fluid instead so obvious attempt for signet of earth and gale.
Somehow its suits to focus.
For dagger offhand would give interact button to detonate fire ring and shoot self in the sky, the bombard area with flame.
Energy storage trait or how there could be synergy cantrip and elementals:
Use lightning flash on you existing elemental to destroy it, refresh lightning flash cd, gain 50% endurance and trigger staff air 2.
That could get more complicated version like gain boon of quality corresponding to ele that destroyed or triggered effect on destroying also corresponding to ele that destroyed. But in that case not neccessary looking forward to see it more complicated.
Nextly about burning precision and blinding ashes instead proc on crit make proc on weapon skill that by deafult apply burn. Flamestrike not included. Weapon skill won’t proc more that one add stack of burn from burning precision nor more blind stacks that one thanks to blinding ashes. More influence over those effects, but it would hurt being in other attunements, so they would have even less damage;x Major minus.

A 1s teleport spam would not be good for game — ever.
It’s a nifty idea, just not as you’ve currently designed it.

next fire field after using arcane blast is attached to enemy. Arcane blast mark enemy with Sentimental Fire.
arcane blast is utility so its no weapon gated, have cooldown so its balanced already, is instant so it won’t be clunky, its projetile so its next reason why it is balanced.
its way to search reasons to promote fire line and underused utility arcane blast.
Imagine enemy who sit on lava font for full time. Or walking with flamewall/ring of fire killing his allies. Or being killed by fire overload aoe that remains after successful cast.
Fire field being attached, not talking about clunky following.
