In group content your elemental gets absolutely demolished, so no, not all that useful.
It can’t dodge, and scaled bosses/dungeon bosses do really high damage that pretty much is dodge or die.
I am saying that the changes are not good because not improved just took one of the useful things that was the FGS

For wvw roaming this is still the number one elite. For pve stacking, glyph of storm will take its place.

I feel for you there, I really do, that’s the #1 reason I don’t play ranger.
Mesmer involves a lot of NPC’s as well too but at least phantasms are on fairly short cooldowns.

i do think the water ele is gonna be neat, u summon, use the heal asap, couldnt care less what happens to it anymore, if it happens to survive 15 or 25 seconds, u can use the heal again
On demand 6k heal and 25 stacks of vulnerability glyph will become meta until nerfed.
Think of a 48 seconds glyph of storms, with our eles having a 30% condition duration investment from the fire traitline. That’s about 10 seconds of vulnerability. You can pretty much have perma 25 stacks of vulnerability with 5 eles, although I’m not sure how viable that strategy might be. Depending on how long the bosses last in dungeons, one, two or three eles with GoS might become meta. Vulnerability builds from other professions will become pointless when you can bring a single utility for that.

Apparently it’ll be increased by 140%.
Therefore 4k x 2.4 = 9600.

You do realise that if it does 3.5-4k now it will be doing 140% more damage after the patch and not just 40% more? It actualy will be doing more damage then churning earth making it our strongest attack and the second most powerfull attack in the entire game (after killshot) on a short cooldown and even without a channel. Imagine this in the hands of a ranger who can buff it with another 75% and the 25 vulnerability stacks from the new lightning storm.

Seriosuly with 10 sec cd plust the mobility of the whole skillset and n3 potentially doing crazy numbers paired with a timed backwards lightning flash or faced against a wall.. it ll be the best choice for s/f ele
In pvp scenarios you rarely if ever used number 4 BROKEN dps unless you abused it for killing neutrals or gates/lord. Now i ll be really really kittened if some random bunker guard picks my second little flaming beauty from the ground
Btw glyph did 25 inuln on stationary big golem that sat there for whole duration plus we dont know weather that build had 5 minor in air etc.I dont think it ll be worth it in real pvp scenarios.
And whats that about a 6k glyph aoe heal on demand every 25 sec?? Lol.. then again mesmer is getting a ticket to god mode so anything should be expected
fgs – fiery rush is nerfed in damage of the fire lines but increased the leap damage, still you can do more damage with the fire lines asuming you can create at least 4 lines because you can no longer stack them on the same area, what means 1 buff – 2 nerfs,

I know what you mean. I also saw that the damage numbers in the live stream weren’t that high. But if you pause at the beginning you’ll see that the tooltip of fiercy rush describes an damage of 2555 (or something) on the leap and 85 on the fire trail. I’ve also compared the current fgs with the new one using the same build they showed when demonstrating the changes 2 the arcana grandmaster trait and they indeed increased it by 140% (1064 × 2.4 = 2553.6). Besides the damage I do with a glass build already would have been higher then what we saw during the preview. (And they decreased the trail damage by 70% (278 × 0.3 = 83.4))
