My friend and some others challenged me to fight a Thief and his re-rolled PU Mesmer, naked. No armor on and only to use trinkets/weapons.

The thief fight is slightly boring so you can skip to the 2:40 mark.
Either the Thief/Mesmer was really bad or I did well for myself

Impressive. Personally, I think they both let you get away with too many Churning Earths unpunished. In fact, I think that was what killed the mesmer. The thief should’ve thrown down a bp and unloaded on you whenever you used Churning Earth IMO. Still, very impressive.

In my opinion, they both sucked. Nothing more. Nothing less. The Thief wasn’t even doing that much damage or anything, at least the Mesmer nearly had you down. Going down by the looks to a skill that is SO easy to avoid (Churning Earth) They both pretty much gave you the win. They got hit WAY too many times with skills that could have been easily avoided as well. Neither used poison. A must against Signet of Restro ele, well pretty much any ele and Healing Signet Warriors.

Only have one legendary and the others are skins.
Legendary = Celestial with Geomancy
Exotic = Apothecary with Torment

Accessories are also Apothecary and Celestial.

What do you think of Take Root? My condi ele (Human) runs with Reaper of Grenth. It is a real shame that we don’t have a real condition based elite

For me, I consider Take Root to be a very handy elite skill to have. Good for survivability and the extra bleeds whenever you need it. I personally have never used Reaper of Grenth or a Human character as thoroughly as I have with my Sylvari so I cant make an assumption on the abilities of that skill.

It is indeed a shame we don’t have one directly for the elementalist, but I am really lucky to have chosen the Sylvari race for my ele. Been on this char for a good year and more and love every second of it!

Reaper of Grenth – Poison and Chill in an AoE for 3 seconds, every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. It works really well. in Solo, Small groups and in Zerg fights. It being unblockable is very useful and the Poison is SO useful for us when fighting classes that have high regen (ele, warrior, engi)

I dont think it has a limit on number of foes that can be affected either. Kinda tempted to give the new Krait runes a try. Which adding Bleeding, Torment and Poison though only 1 stack of each for 8 seconds. Which is very disappointing they could have made it higher stacks but longer cool down (currently 30 seconds) It should have been 3 stacks of torment, 3 stacks of Bleeding for 8 seconds and Poison for 15 seconds on a 90 second cool down.

I’m also thinking of switching to the changed Krait rune. Perplexity is fun but I need something new now. One thing that is off-putting about going for elite-based runes is the fact that the elites I am able to use have a ridiculously long cool down.

Summon Druid Spirit – 240 sec (racial)
Summon Sylvan Hound – 180 sec (racial)
Conjure Fiery Greatsword – 180 sec
Take Root – 150 sec (racial)
Glyph of Elemental – 120 sec

I see the Krait runes benefiting classes that have a lower cooldown for their elite skills like Thieves, Warriors and possibly Necromancers if they don’t summon their Flesh Golems pre-fight. Although I could be wrong, I would still like to give it a try… when I have money, haha.

I agree. It became clear as the fight progressed that he/she had no idea what they were doing. Even the Gold Invader rank didn’t seem to help despite the amount of hours/experience put in to get it XD. Maybe those two were alt classes, maybe not.

Personally, i don’t think it is worth it. As you have said it being attached to the Elite is the killer. It loses all potential due to the fact its single stacks for about 8 seconds. That simply isn’t worth it when we have INSANE elite cool downs.

I was really hoping we would get some good changes to others – Krait, Torment and such but the Krait change is terrible. Torment i don’t think has even been changed.

I too would love to change runeset but i can’t not only does Perplexity do great damage, it procs often enough to make it a great added condition as well. Having 8 seconds of Bleeding, Poison and Torment every like 150seconds simply is not worth it.
