What do you guys think are the best looking armor and weapon sets for the Engineer class? Just curious, looking to change up my look a bit, wondering what everyone thinks is the sexiest weapon sets, pistol/rifle, and armor sets. I really like the look of the Aetherblade set, I feel it really suits the Engineer class.

In my opinion, nothing beats magitech armor with aetherized weapons.

I have both armors, and matching weapons to go w/ them. I luv em both…

I am pretty grateful that anet finally listened to us and gave us not one but two engineer armor sets to pick from, and I feel aetherblade armor is the best looking engineer armor for charrs.

As for weapons it would have to be the aetherized set

These are what I roll with, the first my roaming P/P Apoth set, the Second my Rabid Grenade setup.

Can’t say I’m a fan of the full Aether medium set.

As far as pistols go, you can’t beat the Aether pistol. Shame it’s so expensive.

I’ve got two sets I use: Magitech and Whispers. While I’d like to have put my whispers on my Rabid set and my magitech on my Cleric’s set, I unfortunately did the opposite and don’t think I have an easy means of fixing it -_-

I personaly give up “engineer look” because simply every engineer trying looks like that. Almost all medium are pretty ugly and as nice bonus clips with charr tails so making great looking set was hard:-) And now its perfect for me. Especialy with Hylek potion and legendary aura its look so awesome:-)

Depends on race, Charr look terrible in anything other than cultural in my opinion (clipping, stretching, floating shoulders, etc).
The other races tend to look great in everything, with Aetherblade/Magitech/Rascal/Dredge and the medium karma stuff looking the best for engineers.

I love the Aetherblade ( my Apothecary support gear) and the magitech ( condi damage build).

I don’t wear the aetherblade hat though I use the starter monocle instead.

Best looking pistol is the corrupted one, best looking shield is the fused shield.

I have gone for a mix and match.I did not want him looking all fancy.More work man like.

I agree with Rozbuska, a lot of engineers try to go steampunk or cyberpunk with magitech armor etc, so i went with a uniform style looking armor i picked up from a dungeon that looks quite nice imo. Plus a nice musket from human cultural vendor(would prefer the golden rifle from CM but I’m too lazy). And to top it off a got a mask that is noticeable. And to the OP just try to find a theme that you like, the heart of the mists has all the armor you can preview, that is where i come up with my outfits. Good Luck!

Even though its not that engineery, I like the look of the Krytan armor together with the Godskull weapons.

I am wielding and wearing bones. Plus the Godskull Musket is one of the few rifles that can pass as a shotgun.

I like the SE gloves and boots. They’re very steampunk looking.

My main set is “heavy metal” themed and it makes my (Human) Engineer look like a heavy armor profession instead of medium. With the right dyes, it also looks really good with the Engineer kits, particularly the Flamethrower (though I typically run Grenade Kit).

For armor, I wear the Furnace Reward set (but with Fused Gauntlets) and a Molten Jetpack.

For weapons, I use the Adamant Guard Rifle, Steam pistol(s) and/or a Dredge Shield. However, I recently discovered the Exterminator rifle and that seems like a good fit too.

I use the SE shoulders and helmet, CoF gloves with WvW chest and Orr pants. I use midnight olive/walnut dyes. I’d post a screenie but im on my phone.

I like the kodan chest because it has some kind of stylish lab coat look that I really like, the magitech skirt is pretty nice too.
Now I would love to have the male version of the magitech boots because the female ones look awful in comparison.

The armor has never changed but the weapons have gotten better over time. Also aetherized weapons have an awesome engy-feel.

Everyone will tell you about the magitech + aetherblade combinations, even I have one set somewhere. But I’m really more attached to more basic values.

I’ve taken alot of pride trying to mix different pieces in order to complete my ‘Marauder’ set, mixing krytan, outlaw, and second tier charr armor with a nice little Ogre Blaster as shotgun. (Seriously, that weapon skin rocks) And then my ‘Nobility’ set, combining Whisper pads, duelist coat, orr karma gloves, equipped with Legionnaire pistols with an overall colour mix that could remind of the Dishonored universe.

These are engineers in their own ways and styles, and everyone has different opinions. I kind of grew tired of the whole bulky engineer thing after a while.

Imo, the aetherized shield is hand-down the best looking engi shield in the game.

The basic ascended pistol skin is quite nice as well. It’s similar to the aetherized one but with a longer barrel and minus the particle effect (and cost).

Well if you’re Norn both the Magitech Armor as well as the Aetherized Shield looks great as they’re a little bit like bulky and rought (ignore the colors in the screenshot below). I absolutely hate the Aetherized Pistol (especially for it ‘s clipping with my Norn). I’d take the T3 Charr Gear Pistol instead to complete that look.

Thought, if you’re Asura nothing beats the King Toad Shield and Pistol, especially the Shields Afterglow. Fits an HGH Engineer Build perfectly. Potaholic. Er or little Dobby-Link lol. Well maybe that Fire-Themed Look with a Ghastly Grinning Shield, Fused Pistol, CoF Shoulders and Hellfire Gloves comes close. Just feels odd sometimes, I’m usually not into that whole Fire theme … maybe that ’s why.

Off to level my Norn Engineer now.

Well, I have some armors. I mean, quite a lot.

Obviously, I have the Magitech and the Aetherblade, and I mix them but not the way people do it (first screen). The magitech boots goes well with the Aetherblade top and the monocle!

The skin I use the most is my “young adventurer” look. Once again, some aetherblade stuff here (second and third screen) with the boots and the skirt, but it’s good looking with the krytan top.

I also use a white lab coat, as I play with elixirs (fourth screen)

And last screen, I also wanted my character to be a young norn instead of a human (as young norn have human adult like proportions), so I tried to have a nornish stuff, without having access to the norn cultural armor, and I also didn’t wanted to use the HoW armor.

About the weapons, I almost use the vigils guns as they are quite bulky, the priory guns on my last armor, and I’m going to get the aetherblade guns for my first armor.

This is a quick screen shot of my sylvari “dark lord” engi. I am thinking that the best pistol to use with my ghastly will be the sunless pistol (so hopefully I get it soon). I used to run it w/o my helm showing, but I actually like the invader’s skin.

T3 Asuran Cultural

Here is my Asura Engi.

Also went for the piecemeal look that captures some cultural as well as PS stuff for the character while trying to stay techno based (though not a roleplayer). I love the Asuran aesthetic, I just wish the medium T3 Asuran armor was a nice as the Heavy and Light stuff. Oh well.

Pants: Order of Whispers
Gloves & Boots: Asuran T3
Pistol: Quip
Shield: Diamond Aegis

Just crafted the back yesterday (though I doubt it’s ever going to be ascended).

I am only missing a suitable shield for when I don’t want to carry a rifle.

Aetherblade set, mystic rifle (this is the minimal version, you can go for hyperbeam alpha if you want something more hardcore)

I really love the steampunk looks.

My decapper engi

My Engie tends to run two different looks. The first is a more ‘uniform’ style, using the tier 1 human chest, Aetherblade legs, and the riding-boot look of the Noble boots.

For more ‘formal’ engineering activities, Aetherblade shoulders and gloves, Magitech torso, and Viper leggings and boots (preferred over the Magitech same). Swapping the Magitech shoulders, depending on mood.

Don’t tend to run with a visible helm, but always have the Aetherblade “Biggles” helmet handy, in case of falling ash or inclement weather.

Hopefully, everyone got the Slickpack backpiece, and a matched set of the Aetherpistols.

I haven’t seen one too similar… I LOVE this color scheme! only level 35 atm and probably not the best armor, but lovin it for now!

I made my character black so he’d be unique with the white mustache and whatnot hahaha ^^
