Engineer fixes - June 11th, 2013
It is nice to see some work being done on Reserve Mine. Other then that not much to write home about. The next patch is what I’m looking forward to.
Like always fixes, that no1 need.
ehh this AN.

Well, in anticipation of some changes in strategy, there is a potential nerf to the Flame Jet and Fumigate skills:
notesProfession Skills
General:Fixed a bug that caused sigils to be removed when the player died while transformed.
Fixed a bug that let teleport skills teleport players through certain walls, most notably the clock tower’s walls in The Battle of Khylo.
Fixed a bug that made line-of-sight checks frequently succeed when they shouldn’t.
Fixed a bug where skills that draw allied conditions would instantly cure any condition that was self-inflicted.
Easiest spot to test this, I think, would be on the Archivist final encounter, where an FT could tank the fight by strafing around the square pillar on the right side of the Archivist as you run in. The change will likely negate this.

Now we just have to see whatever got bugged in this patch.

Or just attacking siege placements through gates, which is how I usually use my Engineer when defending towers in WvW.
If true this kind of sucks, but is acceptable.
I’m just too happy about Crystalline Dust being salvaged through Globs of Ecto to really care about the balance changes. I just feel bad for the couple people that completed their Gift of Mastery recently in my guild that had to spend 38 silver per Dust.
They already said that the sPvP patch later this month is where the balancing changes will happen, anyway. This patch was mostly bug-fixes and Dragon Bash-related.

Thinking the same thing about gates in WvW… they are wooden after all, but being able to punch right through them and spray anyone nearby?
Lol.
Physti – Elementalist | Fistful of Blades – Thief
[WHIP] Quaggan Slavers – HoD
right, i don’t wvw, so that slipped my mind. same goes for legacy of foefire (since i bunker, firing through gates isn’t always on my mind).
that said, i would have thought that firing through gates was intended, but exploiting bosses around environment elements was not.

The same trick works in Caudecus Manor on some of the paths where there are enemies in the bedrooms and you can safely destroy them without even pulling aggro by spraying through the wall.
I think it’s probably a good sanity check.
They won’t fix that environnemental weapon exploit… engineer can keep having fun with canon on capricorn map in spvp….

Nah I’ll just test it on my engi the next time I’m on since it misses on mine all the time anyway I can tell if it’s actually fixing the problem or making it worse.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking, we’ll see. Hopefully nothing.
Now if they’ll just take a look at EG/TK kit refinement to improve those two and bring them back into usefulness and add the 25% run speed to a gadget somewhere in there like our sister classes have, that should bring things closer to on par with the rest of Tyria.
