Engineer is seriously strong...
The damage of a scrapper is totally fine and on pair with other classes. The sustain heal is very good but was already nerfed last patch. It’s still nice but nothing overpowered imo.

Not a great way to give yourself any credibility.
I only play my Engineers occasionally and have found from both playing them and fighting them that they aren’t any more or less powerful than the majority of roaming classes in WvW.
The issue I’ve found is that some classes are just slightly underpowered in comparison to Engie and most other classes. Necro and Ranger are currently lacking in the power department, they work, but they don’t pack as much of a punch as the rest.
Can’t beat them, want nerfs. Anet hire this man.
The main balance issue with scrapper is projectile reflect uptime (it’s over the top when coupled with the blocks and evades on the hammer). Im pretty sure the bulwark gyro toolbelt is bugged to last longer (at least visually) than it should.
Scrapper is not poweful like allmighty berserker now. But it is very well balanced and counter almost all classes like all classes should counter him.
OP classes: druid, herald, dd, *BERSERKER, all condition builds (wvw and pvp)
Normal(fairly balanced): Reaper, Scrapper, Chrono, Tempest.
UP: DH, all base specs – excluding condition.
berserker is 1st pick in wvw roaming cause it can solo everything with full hp.
*all condi builds need to be toned down

What are ya’ll thoughts? Do you think Engineer is a bit strong on the damage, and/or has a bit too much sustain? Maybe a cooldown reduction on the heal skill, or damage reduction on the hammer. It’s nearly impossible to beat.

This is so situational. When I run thief, I steer far away from scrappers unless I can +1. But on a necromancer I 1v1 them and almost always win.

Especially on my Warrior, I can keep the Scrapper engaged until I can catch an interrupt or the Scrapper simply makes a mistake, and put him on the back foot or straight up finish him off.

if you can condi a warrior on a condi build then CC him, block and kite you can have decent 1v1 against them. ON my build if they land onehit I’m toast though. It has to be played perfect.

Shame that wars can’t fight/hold 2 decent players at once like scrapper, neither he can go stealth to avoid being loaded with condis/CC

Pro league teams are thinking seriously of going back to using warrior and none of them will be running engi.

Nah. Not anyone, and not without effort.
It feels strong because we’ve all been so used to it being utter garbage for quite a while. It still has pretty glaring weaknesses and less sustain than other specializations, though it can deal pretty great damage to compensate.
It’s a bad matchup for Scrapper because War is more balanced between sustain and damage, while Scrapper currently has way better sustain but not enough damage to be really impactful – meaning the fight either stalls forever or the Scrapper eventually loses ground.
What better place than here? What better time than now?
My condi scrapper with Rabid and undead is doing just fine against warriors… will have to wait till the chaff gets weeded out though and I can be sure I’m playing moderately good players. Actually initial tests show my build has been pretty effective at most things while not having quite the escapes and ability to contend point against multiple opponents that the older metas did. I am not sold on this gyro thing.

scrapper stleath gyro meants: please aoe here for free win, theres a possible reason ive used the stealth gyro due having low health.
or a DH can pull the gyro out of scrapper positon with their f1, funny to see scrapper loosing the gyro that way XD
