Engineer's grenades outdistance rifle
Yeah. Because they got very beefy arms and because its not a rifle. Its a shotgun. Sure it looks like a rifle, sounds like a rifle and stats say its a rifle… but its still a shotgun thats aimed from the hip.
Not so hard with Rifle being effectively a melee weapon…
( I’ve own real thing.) The ingame rifle/shootgun should still shoot further that your character can throw a grenade Its physics people.
I think throwing on Ground level distance should be 900,
From on a building it should become 1200 distance,
If from building 2nd level or higher max out at 1500 distance for throwing

Have you seen how Engi’s shoot their rifles? They really aren’t aiming. So it’s not so much as the bullet doesn’t travel that far, it’s just that they’ll likely miss after that distance. Their nades on the other hand, they ahve really good aim on those
Next Engineer Update: Due to popular demand, Engineer grenades have been rebalanced to 600 range to make them more realistic.
I like to think that the general populace tends to make things worse when they bring up issues like this.
When we’re talking about a game where you can set dust storms on fire, blind bats and bleed earth elementals, or where you can fall from 3 stories + height and live, I think it becomes clear that realism was not the goal here as far as game mechanics were concerned.

Bats have amazing vision.
Stop pointing out to reality in this game!!! LOL
(seriously..this is the same answer I got in-game when we were blasting Taida Covington’s metal door..I suggested why we are trying to blow up a steel door while it is fitted in an WOODEN fence…LMAO)
“Rifles” are not Rifles.
This is essentially older tech which is closure to a Blunderbus or Musket.
Not that in game stuffies like this need or warrant explaining.

And the game that diving into really shallow water from really frickin high place doesn’t kill you.
I love that…so screw realism.
With no target lock on the engineer grenades are garbage.
The distance of nades are fine. If anything, I wish there was an auto attack for them. I hate constantly spamming #1 skill in the direction I want it to go – yeah it’s handy in some cases, but not the majority of the time. If I want to attack said player, just allow me to keep firing those nades at them – don’t make me have to constantly follow wherever they go and press #1 every second >_<

There have also been recorded instances of people falling from 3 stories and surviving. Of course, it helps if they have something to land on to break the fall.

He is serious, he has started threads and posted in multiple places his nonsense belief that nades should be target lock.
He also does not read any replies, he posts his side, and then will later repost his same argument and will not read/comprehend/consider any argument, I recommend you ignore him since he ignores us.

This kind of sums it up there OP.
But if you really want to make a real life comparison. in a fight to the death, I will take 3 grenades at 40 yards against a guy shooting from the hip with a rifle, any day.

Irrespective of what kind of vision they have, bats use echolocation to navigate and hunt prey in the dark. So technically speaking, blinding them wouldn’t prevent them from being able to locate and hit you.
I’m deadly serious target lock on would make the grenades much more deadly.
Engineer bombs placed at our feet don’t blow our legs off! Stop bringing logic into this!
Wahoo! Bye frands!

You forgot one thing: It would be much more deadly for the engineer
(Can’t throw behind your back? Can’t throw to random location where the enemy will be in 2 seconds? Too bad, you have target lock on~ )
As long as grenade’s speed is not the same as a traited ranger’s bow, I vote NO for target lock.

Perhaps you just need to learn how to use them better?
How can shrinking yourself makes you invulnerable? Shouldn’t you be more squishy?
How can you even shrink yourself? You can’t shrink atoms! The only way would be to reduce the number of them. That would totally break the geometry.
How do our characters even survive without constant food or sleep?
What is the meaning of life?

YOu’re an engineer. You figured out a way to manipulate what is mostly empty space in an atom to let them shrink and condense. In doing so, you not only made yourself small and hard to hit but also made yourself incredibly dense and hard to destroy.
Mhm, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it :b

I think we need ammo management too. Rifles use bullets and Bows use arrows but where do the characters get all the ammo?
