As the title says I’ve been really enjoying the Mesmer. After 3 ancended items, nerf after nerf, 3 decked out sets of exotic gear it’s sad that I have to take a break from my main.
What they need to do is turn all turrets into moving robot/golems and give them somer personality like illusions. I also think that they need to make kits that are either condition damage with very little actual damage and vice-versa. Thought the point in having kits was to be versital with different builds we wanted.

I got really disenfranchised with my engi when I started leveling my mesmer as well.
The traits are so much better designed. so many options in builds.
Things are not perfect though. Mesmers can’t aoe carpet bomb like engineers. you might miss the massive aoe grenades put out.
Cleansing. you might miss 409.
It might be a bit funny starting now, you won’t feel the line of sight phanstasm nerf.
Oh man. feels like I am playing with my hands tied sometimes on the mesmer now.
THAT was a nerf. Oh, you want to hit that mortar on the wall? sorry , cant anymore.
I too have started leveling a mesmer and even on the very early levels, I can see my DPS is quite different from the way it was when my engy was of the same level. I’ve heard people saying that early Mesmer levels are hard, but it just looks like so easy after I leveled my engineer.
Leveling an elementalist now, feels really good, being able to adapt to a situation quickly. Tis what I wanted from the engineer, what i understood from the description of the class, I guess I was wrong. I’ll still be playing my engi sometimes for fun and for the steampunk feel.
I’m leveling an Elementalist as well. It plays a lot like an Engineer in the sense the Kits = Attunements and I’m really enjoying it. I’m playing Staff, S/D and D/D while leveling up to get a feel for all of the skills and how I ultimately decide to build for WvW which is really all I do these days.
I’m a bit sad, as my heart remains with the Engineer, but the failed implementation of the class and lack of fixes and understanding by Anet put him on the shelf.
Have fun while it lasts. They already put an official statement somewhere in the forum that the latest mesmer spike was to much and they are going to nerf it with the following update (let your imagination run wild).
Trust me mesmer is only a slight different (better?) then engineer. Well at least Jon Struwelpeter is posting there – at least sometimes – when he eagerly likes to eat his soup.
It ’s not only single classes that look like this but the overall execution and communication from AreaNet recently (at least concerning class changes).

have fun while it last you say ‘yawn’ mesmer will always be top dog in pvp and WvW no matter which way you put it sure they might debuff shattered strength but we was still owning people without it rather i hope they nerf it again so you guys will stop complaining that you got one shotted and you will still get killed just as easily as before the buff lmao. The damage you put out is slightly wierd because you have to shatter in order to get the might stacks by the time that happens your enemy is 1. eithier dead. or 2. almost dead 20% health left. pretty much. But after this patch comming up you still have instagib thiefs to worry about and still us. so i guess more and more players will keep complaining bring it on i love the hate ^^ makes me even better ^^
Well, the title seemed like he has made this experience recently with the (accidently) over-buffed mesmer that ’s why I made this assumption. Rolling back that patch changes would theoretically bring back the mesmer to its old stage (which I was doing fine with as well). But history tells otherwhise …
Lets wait for the january and february patches. If there isn’t a change within the reward system for PvE and WvW as well as a rework of the condition system I’m out of here for a long time.
Instagib perma-invisibility thiefs will propably get confronted with changes soon concerning that official question-thread in the thief-subforum.
