FameThrower should have a Combo Finisher
Look at warrior longbow, mixed power condi weapon with better field, better finishers, vastly better range, less retaliation damage.

Wait a kit is not a weapon in your opinion? Then why do we only have 3 weapon options and only 1 at a time?
Not really that logical. They should change the FT anyway and I agree with 2 being a blast finisher. Anything else doesn’t make sense tbh.
And so we revisit the class mechanic that has been holding engineer back since release. Kits are not (never have been ever) as good as weapons, yet take a utility slot while we only have 1 main weapon set. Discuss.
Well having a blast finisher with a fire field would really jive with the Juggernaut trait. And give the kit some more group utility.
Currently you have to either switch out of FT and gimmick it up with shield 4 or waste a utility/toolbelt to compensate, which is annoying since the FT itself already takes up a utility/toolbelt slot.
Maybe add a finisher componnent to the FT toolbelt idk, but yeah, first time I used my FT I was sure #2 was a finisher, was actually surprised when i read the tooltip.
Making #2 a blast finisher would IMO make the FT a little OP. It already does good AOE damage and on a short CD. It’s been a while since I played my other classes, but I don’t recall any class having both fields and finishers on the same weapon. Even the bomb kit doesn’t give you a blast finisher without using the big ol bomb for it and with a heavy CD. I find it acceptable to switch to EG #4 for a blast finisher or use mines.
FT smokescreen should however create a smoke field. Combined with EG #4, it would make the most sense as a viable getaway.
The guardian’s hammer does that. Ring of warding (light field, 40s cooldown) and Mighty Blow (blast finisher, 5s cooldown).
And as with the flamethrower, there is a trait to further reduce the cooldowns.

Would add to the FT much needed synergy with other kits/gadgets/turrets.
Currently FT is too compartmentalized for a profession whose strategies often revolve around incorporating mix n’ match synergies.
Thief shortbow does poison field and have unlimited blast finishers
S/D Ele have fire fields and #2 blast finisher (as awkward as it is to use that skill)
but real talk, how can you name a skill flame “Blast” and not make it a blast finisher lol they could add a condition like it has to end naturally(not detonate) for it to be a blast finisher
and smoke field on #5 is dreamy!! would be the funniest things fighting D/P thiefs lol
I think flamethrower 2 should give a 2 second burn condition when it explodes and remove the burn bullets from the toolbelt and replace it with a fireblast at current location that is a blast finisher with a 25-30 second cooldown.
And if you are really hard up on blast finishers, then you could use the thumper turret which has 3 for one utility skill.

The same could be said about the flamer #3 Air Blast.
Skill names on Engineer make no sense whatsoever, another example is pistol auto ‘Explosive Shot’. Does this skill work with any traits that add to ‘explosives’? The same could be said about the flamer #3 Air Blast.
In all reality a blast finisher might be asking for too much, making it a 100% projectile finisher would be nice, lay down the flame wall, throw the ball threw it to burn before exploding it
I doubt its asking for too much when engi is the least played class and is way behind the holy trinity (warr/guard/mesmer)
Also, I find blast finishers to be much more useful than projectile personally.
Wow having FT #2 as blast finisher, Ft will be finally i real weapon.
