How do you like your engi?
How much effort do you like to put into playing your classes?
I started out ele at launch and found it to be boring after a month or two (purely pvp perspective). Constantly waiting on cooldowns, and particularly the attunement swap timer, left me wanting more.
I found other classes to be even worse, until I tried the engineer.
You can start out with an elixers build, which is easy to play, and gradually add in more kits when you “master” it and get bored. 9 months in I still find myself experiementing with new builds once every week or two.. the class has a very high cieling.
If you dont like being dynamic with your skill usage and pressing a lot of buttons, I’d say stay away. Otherwise its an awesome class in that you get out of it what you put in.
TLDR: Play one in the mists a while.. save yourself the heartache of not liking it.
I agree with everything Punkins said.
I kept getting bored with my characters around 40-45 levels in. Then I found Engineer and fell in love with no-CD kit swapping and fast game play and versatility.

I rolled engineer as my first level 80, but it just lacks compared to other classes. The damage output is extremely low, the survivability is crappy and the overall class mechanics suck.
I made my Engi as my first character back in BWE1 because of the “oh, this looks different” factor and all these months later it’s still the class I play 99% of the time.
It’s definitely a hard profession to master, perhaps the hardest (InB4EleCries), but Engi has enough versatility to suit all forms of gameplay and be adaptable to your play style and preferences.
If you want a profession that provides a well rewarded challenge, go for it.
