Love the engineer. Who else would have the balls to pull out a pistol and make it a flamethrower.
Attenuation, 80 Ninjaneer and absolute fiery death spewing wvw madman. Mystic pistols x2 and mysic rifle.
All Exotic Geared | Master Crafter -Yaks Bend-
My engineer, in PvP.
Im curious, can you wear a hood and a monocle at the same time? Does’nt those take up the same equipment slots?
where do you get the big sniper rifle skrill?
where do you get the big sniper rifle skrill?
In pve its called “the hunter” (precursor).
I crafted it in the pvp mystic forge.
using paid tokens and slivers.. and luck! =)
Is ‘the hunter’ a PVP rifle? Does that mean you can’t get it by combining exotic level 80 rifles in the mystic forge in LA?
What are the paid tokens and slivers?
Thanks

The hunter is a pve rifle (so u can get it by combining exotic’s). BUT
In pvp the rifle is called “steal plated sniper rilfe” (it has the same skin as the hunter)
To craft it u have to use the pvp mystic forge. to craft it u’ll need: Arcane powder, paid turnament token (gained by playing paid turnaments), Arcane sliver, item token.
I’m quite sure there’s a forum topic for this already.
I got bored of my traditional Norn tier 2 armor, and came up with two new looks for my engineer. Here are her ‘glamour girl’ and ‘hot pants’ ensembles.
Beatrice The Bloody, Norn Engineer
Gate of Madness
Belle Towers the practical problem solver
Lord of da boiz[lotb]
Northern Shiver Peaks
Here’s mine, recently kitted out in shiny (well… glowy), wallet-busting new cultural armor. The pistols are the ones you get for beating the story and turning in the token. I used the token from one of my alts so I could get a matching set. :-P
He still has a noble’s mask at the moment, because no helmet will ever look cooler than the ’shroom. EVER.
Edit: I know the picture is a little dark, but no, that’s not abyss or black, it’s midnight blue. I may be willing to blow tons of gold on sweet leaf armor, but I refuse to pay 22g for a single dye.

My Engi: Val Ekk. He loves Golems and Flamethrowers. A lot.
Fun Fact: He still refers to his Golem as the “M.O.X.”
He was made as an experiment, little did I know that experiment went horribly wrong and actually turned out as a fun class to play in SPvP.
This is Johnny Ram. ‘Ram’ because I like Rams and engineers have a personal battering ram. =)
Level 43 Engineer…
Thought i’d post mine because im really proud of how she looks, goes with the kits perfectly. Bonus is i’m guessing it throws most enemies off because she doesn’t look like an engineer (without the kit equipped).

Name of this coat?
My little steampunk Asura, not just with gogles… but with a bionic arm as well
Wiggely Wombat.

How did you get the “bionic arm”? I’m assuming it’s from the Coat. What’s the name of it?

It’s all in the dyes…
Basically I wear almost all Order of whispers gear, except the goggles and the shield.
Those googles and shield give the total picture that push in the steampunk direction.
The daggers etc on the Whispers gear can also be seen as mechanics and valves and all of that, so it fits the big picture.
Now for that arm:
if you color the Whispers gear carefully, you’ll notice that a part of the arm shares color with a part of the chest, some small detail. In the picture: the black in middle of the arm, and a part of the chest design.
Since you only have 1 shoulder piece, you can match that color as well. And the same for the single glove. Those I used the more white-blueish coloring to stand out, but still match the dark I used for middle arm-chest bit.
So I took ‘metallic’ colors for the small chest detail, shoulder and glove. While I took warmer colors for all the rest.
I matched the gogles with the arm for another mechanical touch.
The arm could have even more metallic coloring, but than it doidn’t stand out as much as now, which defeated the purpose. It has to look like a real seperate piece from the rest of the clothes.

I am noticing a lack of shields.
Ceci n’est pas un bouclier…
I’m noticing an abundance of goggles, monocles, monoggles or whatever you want to call the eyepatch thingies.

Thank you for the detailed reply!
I’m now considering doing that on my engy. I too aimed for a steampunk feel, but my ending result was far different from yours. I focused more on the Victorian theme, and less in mechanical parts. However, the goggles are indeed essential. Here is a screenshot for reference:

very stylish coat though… which one is that?
But the fact that order of whispers gear has single shoulder and single glove, is of course essential to the mechanical arm look.
And the coat has no arms so it doesn’t cover it all up too much.
Having one arm undressed helps for seperating the look of the armored arm.
Also that the shoulder has thingamagics on it (daggers but they look mechanical).

It’s from the Noble set, craftable and quite cheap on the trading post. However, I do think it’s quite disappointing in female characters, at least compared to the version in males. The shoulders and boots (and gloves I think), are all from Orr temples. The Coat, Legs and Goggles were transmuted from Noble set, Noble set and starter gear respectively, for trying to achieve a good steampunk feel.
But yes, if I were to try the “mechanical arm” look, I’d have to change shoulders and coat, which would cost me 2 transmutation stones, and, well, honestly, I really like the temple shoulders on my Asura. It makes him look much more respectable and proud, giving him this nice broad-shoulders feel. But this idea is definetly something to keep in mind. I’ll preview it in the Whispers merchant (luckly my engy is a Lightbringer) and see if the mechanical arm look surpasses the broad and reliable shoulders my asura have (I totally don’t have a crush on him).
Now one more screenshot because why not :P
