Looking for a roaming WvW build

I am also quite new to the Engi, however, I have a blast! It also took me some time to find a build which is fun for me. I started with a regular HGH build and switched to the SD build but both did not work for me. So I watched some youtube and twitch videos and saw some guys who were more reliant to kits and the perplexity runes. Many Engineers do not like to use it as the perplexity runes are quite a bit overpowered but it is fun and it takes some time to get used to it. But it is very effective.
My build looks something like this when I roam:
The good part about it is you can easily switch to a more Zerg friendly option if you bring in grenades and change the explosives traits. Also I am thinking of switching Rocket Boots with Elexir S after the update because I often have problems getting stomps when soloing ppl.
The build is not yet finalized but it is quite solid and it makes fun. But you will be abusing an overpowered rune, if you do not have problems with that maybe this is something for you?
I personally love playing support with my Engi. I go with Healing Power, Condition Damage, and Vitality. While using the med kit/bomb kit/tool kit/ Elixir gun. Pistol/Pistol. The bombs aoe heal and dmg, also applies confusion, the tool kit pulls targets and applies confusion. The Elixir gun provides more heals. The pistols apply more confusion, you could use a shield as an off-hand.

I’m currently levelling up an Engineer, and whenever I run with a zerg, I seem to always deviate and fall into a roaming role instead. The Engineer is just really fun to roam with, as it gives you some really interesting skill combinations. So far I’ve found that Speedy Kits (trait), Med Kit, and Rocket Boots are a must have for roaming, simply because they give you endless swiftness and great movement. Rocket Boots also has Rocket Kick on the tool belt, which gives you a much needed burn option, if you are running pistol/shield. And the Engineer has the best shield skills in the game, with projectile reflection, AoE knock back, stun, and/or double daze.

Nime, I too am trying out a similar build. I would like to say, you would benefit greatly from taking dire gear as opposed to rabid, as the precision does you absolutely no good. I am also looking at taking giver’s weapons b/c the +condi duration is pretty nice, although it may be excessive w/ the food explosives trait line.

This is pretty much the best roaming build you’re gonna get, since rarely is there ever just 1 guy by himself. This build allows you to take on and defeat multiple enemies while being unkillable 1v1
This is what i love about the engi, there are just so many different build atm and they are all viable, well at least the condition side, you will find that you get the most out off an engi when you use 2/3 kits, the build i use atm is
Again it’s another one on those builds that can take on 3 people and win.
But tbh i think you just need to play around till you find something that suits your play style and don’t use turrets other than the healing one.
What he said. Best thing you can do is play, log some hours on your current fave build untill you feel comfortable with the class. Then spend gold and fine tune a build that works for you.
