New 80 LF advice on gear / build
I would go for knights, or soldiers gear.
Knights being power precision and toughness.
Soldiers being power toughness and vitality.
Soldiers gear is a bit harder to get, since it is usually from dungeon sets and from karma vendors, but it does exist.
Depends on whether you want to live, or kill more.
But either set should work for that build.
I’d mix knights 50/50 with berzerkers or valkyries. You’ll get a good mix of survivability and dps.
With elixir U’s tool belt if you use it purely in a escape function it is actually pretty effective when it actually fires.
Drop it in front of you at an arch way / gate way / stairs and run through it. You’ll either get stealth, a condition removal + knock / projectile wall, or a projectile wall + blind.
When used in this fashion the randomness is less of a factor. It’s not like you dropping it with the intent of getting a wall or projectile reflect, or even stealth. Since no matter what you get it will help you to escape.
Actually, for perma-swiftness, speedy kits is enough. You don’t need to use the med kit #5 to maintain swiftness, since the speedy kits give you 5 seconds of swiftness on a 5 second cooldown
Unless you have PERFECT timing with your kits, there will be gaps in the swiftness. It’d be nice if they had it set to give 6 seconds of swiftness on a 5 sec CD, so we have a window of overlap with which to reequip. Or better yet, just make it so that you have swiftness when a kit is equipped and take the button mashing out of it… atleast out of combat; in combat it should probably stay as is.
Anywho, the medkit #5 more than makes up for any human error.
This is actually interesting.
You have to decide where you want to be with your build, but you are on the right way. I thouth of a “con-damage” grenadier myself but never tested it.
Personally i am rolling with “power/precision/crit. damage” gear. And it is really effective with grenade kit + rifle.
Oh and 5% of one stat bonuses, are pretty weak,i think you can spend those skillpoints for something else.
as for gear :
Condition damage, Crits,Power → Rampagers gear. And i would reccomend you getting “30% chance on crit = burn” if you’ll go there.
Con. dmg, power, vitality → Carrion gear. This would focus on bleeds more, but i think in that case pistol + pistol might be better.
For raw power and crazy bursts, take berserker gear.
Utility skills:
6.I use Med kit(with permaswiftness ofcourse)
7.Elixir U (If its a smoke-screen you can use it with your rocket jump,to stealth) or Slick shoes.
8.Elixir S (really helps with burst-like builds like every thief and hundered blades warriors) or Utility goggles(10 stacks of vuln. even more crazy burst)
And Supply crate.as it is the best elite skill you can have (controll,med-kits,net turret, regeneration….so good)

Following ProstoBob’s idea, if you go into firearms you can get a much more reliable swiftness boost with the Adept major trait “Infused Precision.” You’ll have, most likely, a 1 second delay between the end of the swiftness and a beginning if you want constant swiftness in combat.
Oh, you almost always crit on critters, so you could have fun speeding yourself up by killing critters along the way.
. . . Not like there needs to be a reason to kill them . . . other than to boost your kitten by seeing 50k oneshots on poor, defenseless creature. . .
Speaking of Elites. I usually switch between the Supply crate and my Charr Warband call. It’s fun to see two extra people jump out and start wailing away on your enemy!
Loudmouth, lousy PvPer, and mediocre PvEer.
I don’t own, I just play

Where do you get berserker gear?
