It is well known that engineers do not get their equipped pistol/rifle/shield bonuses applied to their kit weapons.

So rather than just rant about having these bonuses carry over. How about ArenaNet makes a few new Main Hand equippable items that have their bonuses carry over, but operate as impromptu weapons in their own right.

These are just ideas, so don’t get all uptight about them if you don’t agree. Haters gonna hate, after all.

Chem Tank (2H Weapon)
A heavy chemical storage tank, used to carry a variety of liquids for kits, such as the Elixir gun and Flamethrower. Its heavy weight makes it a useful impromptu weapon.

Tank Thump – Smack the target with the side of your tank. (Range: 130, Damage)

Chem Cloud – Open the tank vent, and create a cloud of vapor that poisons to all nearby targets. Remember to hold your breath first! (Range: 200, PBAoE, DoT, Poison)

Coolant Spray - Release the coolant overflow of your tank, chilling all foes in front of you. (Range: 400, Damage, Cone, chilled)

Take a Whiff – Take a sniff from your tank vent, and gain a random boon.

Huffing Cloud 9 - Expel a healing cloud of medicinal agents, providing healing to all nearby allies. (Range: 200, PBAoE, Vigor, Regeneration)

Tool Box (2H Weapon)
A large metal box, heavy with stored tools for a variety of kit, makes for a mighty blunt trauma weapon.

Box Bash – Swing your tool box against your target. (Range: 130, Damage)

Box Push – Thrust your tool box forward, pushing back your foe. (Range: 130, Damage, Knock back)

Box Pummel - Overhead swing of your tool box, to daze your target. (Range: 130, Damage, Daze)

Lid Shield - Open your box in front of you, to block the next attack. Counter with an attack if you are in melee range, by snapping the box shut while thrusting the box at your target. (Range: 130, Block, Damage counter strike)

Spill Tools – Spill your tools around you, making it difficult for nearby foes to move (Range: 200 PBAoE, Immobilize)

Utility Satchel (2H Weapon)
Heavy canvas and leather bag useful for carrying around bomb parts, grenades and other chemical compounds.

Satchel Smash - Swing your satchel at your foe. (Range: 130, Damage)

Satchel Uppercut - Upward swing your satchel at your opponents head, to daze the foe (Range: 130, Damage, Daze)

Satchel Whirlwind - Spin in place, whirling your satchel around you, damaging all nearby foes. You can move while spinning. (Range: 1200, Damage, Combo Finisher: Whirl)

Satchel Surprise - Grab a handful of random chemicals from your satchel, to throw up a chemical cloud in front of you (Range: 400, Cone, Random Condition)

Bonus Sandwich - Find a long forgotten foodstuff, stuffed at the bottom of your satchel, for an instant health boost. (Range: Self, Healing, Vigor, Regeneration)

Hahaha take a whiff.. amazing. Would be nice to see some ranged options in there though, seems to be primarily melee.

An actually useful replacement for the tool kit, what? =P

They’d have to be really nice for me to give up my only loadout slot, but the idea’s not bad. A poison cloud and whirl finisher would be especially nice to have.

That said, if they could make weapons that grant stats to kits, they may as well just fix the ones we already have.

That’s true. All they need to is give us our pistol/rifle/shield stats to our kits, but I got bitten by the creation bug and thought of a few interesting weapon ideas for things an engineer would have.

The Chem Tank is my favourite, especially after watching “Breaking Bad”. Wandering around the battlefield, smacking mobs with the butt end of your chemical tank, taking a huff every now and then.

Personally, I would just like to see Engineer being able to use Hammers. I think they would fit the class very well. But if I cant have that, these idea are very fun as well!

Whild I badly want the stat/sigil/attack thing fixed on kits, i’d love a new proper weapon as well, even if its not something unique (probably to much work for one class sadly), just a hammer would be great as Wildwood suggests, and would really fit the engineer theme and give us another melee option.

… especially if they could add a giant wrench in as a skin somewhere in the game cough torchlight 2 style *cough.

I kind of want hammers, but after thinking about it I think I’d rather have maces. They make a -little- more sense as a tool-turned-club than a gargantuan 2-hander and we can change up our loadout a little bit. Not that I’d complain about hammers, mind you. They’re my favorite weapon on both classes that can use them.

Why not both?
To me, they both make more sense than an engineer using a sheild and pistol.
