Hi there. I’s playing a bit Engineer and found it pretty difficult to kill mob. Well, not difficult, but pretty long. I’m talking about pistols and riffle. Is it because of my Engineer 10 lvl or it’s because this weapons are not main tools?

I thought pistols and riffle are the main tools and grenades, and other kits are addition. Or it’s other way around?

Well, it’s hard to make a suggestion without knowing a bit more about what you’re doing.

Weapons and kits are… well, the relationship is complicated. Ideally, you’ll be swapping back and forth between weapon and kit(s) to make the most of both; that is, neither has primacy, but when used together they are complements.

Things will pick up a bit with your traits, particularly once you hit 20. Can’t really say much more without knowing what approach you’re taking.

At low levels you should take the rifle as it ‘s relativley good and easy scaling with power to kill off things. Also don’t forget that it’s piercing – meaning you are able to hit multiple mobs at once. Put your first 10 points into tools and choose static discharge for another way to quickly apply damage to multiply mobs at once.

Tactically you should be able to buy multiple different +power runes (make sure they are named different so that you get the first bonus from all of them) as well as the minor sigil of power fairly cheap of the TP. Better buy a bigger stack of them as you level up, and switch out your gear for blue equipment every few levels (later on use green equipment until you are at least level 60).

I would recommend not wasting your karma on that green equipment you get from the heart vendors unless you like the skins. And do not buy low level rares. They are only overpriced, and not worth the investment. Save your money and karma for the endgame-equipment (you will reach that stage fast enought).

And concerning the engame-equipment:

If you are low on money or want to try out certain builds go for the 74-78 exotics as they are usually fairly cheap (unless the have a pricey rune or sigil) and have almost the same stats as the level 80 exotics.
