I think we need some improvments in firearms traits…AND i really want to speed up the tool kit skill 1 attack, so u can become melee.
Bomb range. and bomb kit must include something to protect engi from his own bombs) cause it looks a little ridiculous when he drop the bomb and don’t always have enough time to run some way from it.
KIT SKINS! For example adding +3 skin sets for all kits. And to get them u need to make some tough quest…for example – Order of the wishpers set…and u need to make a quest for it and u getting this skin set and u can change it for starting skin or to next by making another quest.
i was so much trying to figure out how to make my best with this traits so i think we should be very carefull in our minds on traits cause if u changing 1 trait u need to test it 1000 times to not have unbalance or bugs after realease. I wish good luck to devs, it’s really tough mission)
I would like to see many professions get skills that have the same concept as Subject Alpha’s ’Teeth of Jormag’ skill.
From the Wiki:
Teeth of Jormag - Two red rings form around all players in combat; the inner ring will either have ice or a light blue mist inside it, and each of them causing different effects after a short time. Alpha uses this on the second and third paths.
1. If the ring has ice in the center it’s safe to stay in the middle of it, as anything else within the two circles will be hit by a rock spike corona and suffer huge damage.
2. If the ring has blue mist it’s safe outside the inner circle, as an ice spike will hit in the middle dealing heavy damage.
I would like if there was a frostthrower – an ice-based, defensive version of the flamethrower. Maybe even via traits (it could add that functionality to the flamethrower, making it so you can swap the functionality via the toolbelt). The autoattack could chill, the second attack could shoot a frozen ball that shatters on impact (dealing a strong single hit on impact and some lesser damage via aoe), the third attack could be the same as air blast (but since it shoots cold air, it would extend chill), the fourth attack could make you place an ice wall that blocks passage with a little ice field (let’s say, 4s duration) that melts into a water field (2s). And the last attack, well, dunno…maybe it could shoot the refrigerator liquid around in a sort of player-centered AoE, creating a poddle that damages enemies while they stay there.
Assuming it was implemented with the “toggle” method i mentioned above, juggernaut’s effect may be different as well when the frostthrower is toggled up. It could give 2s protection every 5s, for example, to emphatize the defensive nature of the weapon.
The cooldowns would be indipendent for the two weapons, but since you toggle them via the toolbelt you would still have to wait for it to be charged up.

Turrets that work?
Turrets that work on PvE/WvW?
Turrets on PvP are on a good state, rifle and net turret are awesome, flame turret is actually good in some builds (altho you don’t seem too often) and Rocket Turret will win most all 1v1, thrump is the only one lack luster since it requires it to stay at meele range and does virtually nothing than other x3 blast finishers
Elixir P – Gives you vigor, your next 3 attacks apply poison and torment. Toss Elixir P dazes enemies for 1/2 second, but makes you jump back 300 units.

I would like to see something in a main hand weapon like axe / mace to pair with offhand pistol in a duel weild melee build.
2h hammer would not be bad but I wouldn’t want to see too much overlap with rifle.
a long range ST skill set would be nice.
I would like to see some more static fields, and engi is a good place for them since we already have a lot of air / electric attacks.
lightning turret! / lightning rod! new elite skill.
spawn a turret / rod that sends out bouncing lightning attacks, with an overcharge that drops a static field. (kind of like the asura ones in pve)

So many possibilities… really excited about the future of this game for the first time in awhile.
Its need something whake make us more viable in WvW like portal, AoE swiftness, AoE stability ect. Also melee damage abilities are needed.

I was thinking they might give us another “category” of skills instead of expanding on the current ones.
We have four categories: elixirs, gadgets, turrets, and kits. Each of these categories has five skills in it. However, every other profession has five categories of skills, each with four skills in them.
It was possibly set up this way because engineer was the last profession made and it was no feasible to have a fifth category in the amount of time they had, or maybe they felt the kits would make up for not having another category. At any rate, it’s inconsistent with the design for other professions. So it could be that we’ll get some sort of new category of skills with the associated traits, whereas other professions will focus more on expanding the existing ones so that everything is consistent between engg utilities and other professions.
On the other hand, most people would probably find that boring, so maybe they’ll just expand the existing categories.
I’d definitely be far more interested in a new category of skills than I would be in more Kits or Elixirs, at the very least.
Currently, I’m thinking that maybe a set of skills based on the concept of signet-like technological effects would be interesting; basically like Iron Man, except, well, probably invisible because that’d get awkward.

Supporting the ideea of the 5th category: My bet is we will be given golems.
Makes sense to have some sort of mech/golem outfit we can use (similar to alpha/omega golem) or golems as in ranger pets. We shall see.

Considering that it would use asuran technology, i’m not sure that would be a good idea. It would backfire, like, every second blast.
Oh man, I would love to have some Genius-Operated Living Enchanted Manifestations (GOLEMs, for people who don’t make acronyms; it’s what the word stands for in-world, regardless of the word’s Hebrew origins, as there’s presumably no Hebrews in Tyria to come up with the word themselves).
Suit-style or automated, they’d be a great addition to the Engineer’s skillset, I think – there’d be some concern about overlap with Turrets and the Asura Racial Skills, though. They’d have to pull some crazy stuff to differentiate them.

Well let’s think of a new set of skills for the Engie. They have Turrets, Gagdets, Kits, and Elixirs and I’ve got a few ideas for each category.
TURRETS:
Buzz Saw Turret:
Turret launches Buzz Saws that bleed and cripple targets. Activated skill; Fires 3 Buzz saws at once every 2 seconds for 8 seconds
Tool Belt Skill; Throw Buzz Saw; Apply 3 stacks of bleed and cripple the target.
Shock Turret:
Fires Bolts of lightning that bounces between targets and applies vulnerability. Activated skill; Produce a lightning field
Tool Belt Skill; Shock Treatment; Discharge a bolt of lightning that dazes the target.
GADGETS
Mini-Asura Gate: Create an exit gate. Create an entry gate. The gates short-circuit after 60s.
Tool belt skill; Displacement; Swap positions with target enemy.
Grapple Hook
Pull yourself to target location. Immobilize foes in target area.
Tool Belt skill; Shoot Grappling Rope; Target foe is knocked down for 2s.
Taser
Shoot a taser bolt at your target, stunning them for 1.5s
Toolbelt; Taser Pull – Pull your target toward you immobilizing them for 2s
KITS
- Lightning Rod/Tuning Fork Kit (You can see my suggestion here.)
- Portal Gun
Boomerang Kit
Boomerang – Throw a boomerang that strikes foes both ways
Bladed Boomerang – Throw a bladed boomerang that cripples foes on exit and bleeds foes on return
Boomerchet – Throw a boomerang that bounces between targets dealing more damage the more targets it hits.
Tornaderang – Throw a rapid succession of boomerangs that strike foes both ways. Nearby foes are pushed back. (Whirl Finisher, Same animation as Whirling Defense on the Ranger)
BOOM! erang – Throw a boomerang that stuns targets on exit (1s)and explodes on return.
Tool Belt Skill; Baterang; Throw a bat shaped boomerang that bounces between foes and disables them for 2 seconds (Daze 2s).
ELIXIRS
- Elixir V; Your next 3 attacks are unblockable. Toss Elixir V; Enemies gain 10 stacks of Vulnerability.
- Elixir D: Your next attack does 50% more damage. Toss Elixir D; Deal damage to foes on impact.

Lol, Ranger can’t make a kit that produces Boomerangs 24/7. They can only use the one. I think Boomerang is a good name but to each is own.

Mobile barrier – Erect a small wall at the engineer’s location with X health that stops enemies from passing without first destroying the wall.
Dispersion Turret – A turret that can be targeted by friendly players that turns any single target attack into an AOE – cloning the effects and spreading them to 5 enemies in X range.
Portal Gun Kit
1. Shoot foe with mini-portals, causing damage and vulnerability
2. Open portal above target’s head, from which drops an anvil (LoonyTunes style)
3. Open portal beneath yourself and at target location, teleporting you that location.
4. Open portal in mid air that expels pieces of the ground around you at target. Basically port & hurl a piece of the ground at the target. Dazes target if hit from side or behind.
5. (Chain#1) Create portal at current location. (Chain#2) Create linked portal at current location, allowing 2-way travel for up to x allies. (Chain#3) Collapse portals (blast finishers at both locations but no damage). Lasts up 5 mins. Can be attacked and destroyed.

How about structures as a fifth category? The mobile barrier mentioned above, towers that give a boost to allies over a range, movement tiles (like the ones in pokemon games), and the portal mentioned could also be considered a structure and so on.

(rework) Elixir X – Drink elixir X to gain 2 random boons, furry and grow (like elixir S throw) gaining long stability. elixir
Rocket Luncher – Equip a kit that replaces your weapon with rocket luncher skills. kit
Generator Turret – Place an generator turret that power ups all nearby turrets (increases their attack speed and toughness by 80%) and reduces their overcharge cooldown. Overcharge: Overcharge your generator turret to cause EMP Wave which dazes and damages all nearby enemies. turret
Dynamite Kamikaze – Explode bombs attached to your torso to inflict a tons of damage but yourself Gadget

1: Acrostics are those things where a word’s written vertically, and then each letter in it is used as the start letter of a phrase or sentence. Acronyms are shortenings of sequences of words to make them into something easier to say (for example, SHIELD and JARVIS both are acronyms from the Marvel universe).
2: Yeah, it would be pretty nice to get turrets actually fixed, but Anet doesn’t really listen to us unless we get their attention and start doing 10,000 shot tests. Nothing posted in this thread is likely to make a difference, and they’re not seeming likely to really fix the issues afflicting Turrets to begin with. They haven’t done anything to address the bad parts of Turrets for a while, after all.
