Static Discharge: Stating the obvious - Again
Amen! I do also see it happen more to using the healing turret toolbelt skill more than others but yes… anet fix this since the build is built around it and it’s not exactly great when the main part of the build isn’t actually working.
if it worked with every tool belt skill engineers could have some great power builds make it happen anet

This turret build I’m using could actually become viable and extremely fun if it worked.
Right, let me get this straight. It fires a bolt at your target only if the toolbelt skill you used targets them. Throw wrench is aimed at a target, so the bolt will go for them. Non targeted skills the bolt will fly directly into the centre of the screen.
Once you work out where it is, it should still hit. For example I always drop my rifle turret before battle, I immobilize them with rifle 2 and then destroy the turret, no matter where it is a bolt will fire into them, I can then instant cast the hidden bullet to get double SD damage. It just takes getting used to, and as far as I’m aware working as intended.

Lol, right? Power engineers are in one of the worst states of the game right behind Rangers. They don’t need bugged skills and traits to be classified as, “intended”.

um what
i 1v1 a lot of things just fine
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
Untargeted static discharges are skillshots. Groundtargetted skills fall into the same category. You have to aim you camera slightly upward for it not to go into the ground.
Same thing you’d do for an untargetted Flame Blast if you want to hit someone on a ledge.

I’m fine with it being a “skillshot” such as flame blast or burning speed, it’s when the game forces me to play it like an FPS when it’s clearly not meant to be played as such.
PS: Groundtargetted skills don’t give a kitten where my camera’s facing and neither do the mentioned “skillshot”.

Just tested it and they do. Maybe you didn’t angle your camera properly. I can make a short video if you want me to prove it?

I know what you’re talking about. The projectile comes out where the character is facing but it still forces you to aim the center of your camera at the target for the vertical projection. This is the only skill in the entire game that requires such awkward aiming. You can’t expect me to believe it was intended, especially since it behaves differently depending on the skill used to cast it.
So yes, you found a workaround to make it work but that doesn’t mean it’s any less bugged.

My last statement was because you wrote this: “PS: Groundtargetted skills don’t give a kitten where my camera’s facing and neither do the mentioned ‘skillshot’.”
So I assumed you were claiming that it doesn’t work. In any case, I’m not saying the current functionality is intended, I was just telling you a work around.
