Well kitten.
/15 kittens.
- Gyros now start their cooldown upon summon rather than upon gyro death. Medic, Shredder, Purge and Bulwark gyro now have a 35s cooldown, up from 30s. Sneak Gyro needed a cooldown that was longer since it would otherwise have potential 100% uptime, so it now has a cooldown of kitten , up from 30s (its 30s duration remains). This should encourage players to keep them around to gain their benefits for longer.
Well wishes,

that’s all you need
kitten = 45 seconds
Yes they have Perma Stealth now:
- Duration of 30 Seconds, Cooldown of 45
- after the 30 Seconds, you still have 14s of Stealth left and 15s Cooldown.
Technically you would be visible for 1s but you can bridge that gap with the Stealth from Elixir S. with the right traits, Elixir S is off cooldown when you need it the next time, over and over again.
Well, except for the big gyro that gives your position anyway of course
The same big gyro that gives away your position in pvp scenarios, and aggros nearby enemies in PVAI scenarios, and explodes when destroyed, and does damage to enemies when it blows up, revealing you if you are stealthed, yeah…

Which will be fixed by release (i hope) its sill somewhat useful since they cant target you, they dont know how many are in there and in wvw it will be harder to spot a gyro in the dostance than a group of people.
Either way. The wiki got fixed. No perma stealth with sneak gyro.
The fact that is limited to 5 people hurt this functionality in my opinion :/ I still think that the snake gyro should stealth you regardless of where you are, with the possibility to command it (with a maximum range of course), but I don’t think it will happen
As I said … Irenio is crazy (or insane … as u wish)
A lot of people talk bad about Sneak Gyro. I suspect they did not play it.
You still have mad stealth while a player attacks your sneak gyro, it isn’t dead, and you thunderclap him from stealth. All while he tries to attack the gyro because he had no other option until you become revealed.
It is a very strong close range juke. It is also insta cast so it can deny stomps and CC bursts. Not to mention its game changing tool belt.

You are right about pretty much everything. Personally though, I REALLY dislike the toolbelt.
Engies are already a natural counter to thieves. I would have preferred something I’d get a bit more use out of.

Mesmers
It was wierd, I was trying it out in the beta weekend, in fractals and I found I/we engis will now have to learn the theify habbit of pining it before we use it and postion ourselfs close enough to our downed ally in need.

A much better reason to take it, but still not good enough. If you know the Mesmer is near, you have plenty of other, more versatile tools to deal with the burst. If you do NOT know, then the skill really does not make a difference.
As an Engineer, I am MUCH more concerned about Necromancers or getting burned to death.
And In general, I prefer soft, multipurpose counters.

Isn’t Mr. Sneaks Kind of a Soft Counter to Mesmers? They can not shatter on you if they don’t see you. They can’t stealth Shatter you for example. If they want to kill you, they have to destroy the Gyro first.

It is a soft counter to a lot of things. Part of why I love it so much.
Wished the toolbelt was as elegant.
you all ignore that you have to walk under the gyro to get stealth and that the gyro is not only moving at all times but it is visible and can be attacked
it is very situational maybe for rezzing people or stomping

I was referring to revealing them. I don’t have any issue with the burst. My issues are the constant stealth and re-target. A revealed Mes is a dead Mes.

You won’t have 14s left at the end. That would only occur if you could have more than 5 stacks of stealth, and you can’t. In practice, what will happen is your later stacks will override your earlier ones.
I think what you’ll end up with is 4 stacks with 1s on them and 1 stack with 4s on it, so 8s in total.
So if you want permastealth, you’ll need to blast/leap smoke bomb 3 times while the gyro’s on CD, ideally getting your first combo off when you’ve 1-2s of stealth left.

Well, the nerf to PU has significantly hurt that jig.
So I look forward to the resurgence of the shatter mes.

You Start with 1 Stack of 4s. After 3s you get a second Stack with 4s (5s now). After 6s your first Stack ran out and you get a New 4s Stack (6s now), etc. You will never reach the Limit of 5 Stacks because you only get a 4s Stack every 3s.

According to the wiki, your highest duration stack gets used up first.
So:
- You start with 1 stack of 4s
- At t=3, you have 1 stack of 1s and 1 stack of 4s
- At t=6, you have 1 stack of 1s, 1 stack of 1s, and 1 stack of 4s
- At t=9, 1 + 1 + 1 + 4
- At t=12, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 4
- At t=15, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 (can’t apply any more stacks)
- At t=18, 1 + 1 + 4 (3 stacks lost, 1 added)
- At t=21, 1 + 1 + 1 + 4
- At t=24, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 4
- At t=27, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1
- At t=30, 1 + 1 + 4
So it seems you’ll actually only end up with 6s left. You could theoretically get 8s by revealing yourself just before t=15, as that will reset all the stacks and cause the sequence to start again at t=18.
wiki is wrong then, because my stealth buff definitely did not blink after sitting around in sneaks radius for a while. according to your list there, my buff would have been blinking at … t=15-17 and 27-29, so… nope. it only blinked for about the first 10 secs while total stealth duration was under 5 secs for a large portion of the time.

Yea wiki is definitly wrong. The first stealth applied is the first one to run out.
