Would a Flamethrower/Turret Might build work?
I’m not sure I could be called a ‘professional engineer’ but I will say if your using turrets just for blast finishers, there are WAY better options. Throw Mine comes to mind immediately as an awesome one with a low CD, also Big ‘Ol Bomb is the grandaddy of all blast finishers, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blast_finisher
You could do Rocket Boots too as its also a stun break, acid bomb works well too, just be careful of where your aiming.
The shield has an excellent block+blast finisher too. I will give the OK to thumper turret tho as it had 3 blast finishers in 1 utility slot (the overcharge counts but the tooltip doesn’t say so, also you must have an enemy nearby for it to go off)
I really hope you enjoy your engineer, congrats on reaching 80, now the real grind kicks in =P
P.S. I personally HATE self-regulating defenses, because it will interrupt your heal and put it on full CD without the effect. Also I believe you still take condition damage while tiny, since the Elixir S nerf its basically become a self inflicted daze/stunbreak.

I can’t see your build link but I think there is a better way to do this build.
You can get 3 blast finishers off of just thumper turret, so if you combine that with rifle or foresake the last turret for another utility skill it could work better.
If you drop, overcharge, denotate, and then use the tool belt you`ll get a triple blast or 9 stacks of might. It is good for might stacking or doing burst AoE healing on water fields.
I have done a FT turret build in WvW before and I liked it, but I ended up dropping it due to retal damage when facing guild teams.
In PvE if your focus is purely dps I think you would still do better with grenade kit.

Rocket Boots launches you so far, would be hard to use mid combat. Still possible though, I’ll give it a try!
The reason I didn’t pick Thumper turret is because of its very long cooldown. Sure, it offers lots of blasts but by the time my might goes down it’s not off cooldown yet. However it would be a great choice if your fight is shorter than the might duration. If the third blast worked our of combat, it’d be amazing.
I really want Anet to fix a “Shorter Turret Cooldowns” trait, it would fit this build so well.
