why isn’t there a legendary called ’dragon’s breath’ or something? something that actually looks like it belongs on an engineer would be awesome. the fact that the predator is a sniper rifle is the only thing that’s prevented me from getting my engineer a legendary rifle. it just does not fit the theme of engineer at all.

dude. it’s a sniper rifle. our rifle is a shotgun. it’s meant for warrior.

How about we make them work with kits first? Given how any decent engi build requires kits? At least 1 and most run double even triple kits.

lol the predator is bad-kitten . just because it is a sniper rifle doesnt mean it doesnt fit the engi theme. the predator on engineer= best legendary in game. it changes effects too like grenade barrage and throw junk. but this is my opinion in the end so….

The predator is too tiny and narrow to be an awesome Engineer rifle. I’d love to see something big and bad-kitten, more like the Guild Sharp Shooter.

They need to add a shotgun legendary, or some sort of huge cannon, like scarlets kiss, but with non-ugly colors.

They need to make Flameseeker Prophecies do something with static shield first (i.e. throw the Flameseeker Prophecies instead of the wooden shield).

Agree! I use Scarlets Kiss and love the look on my asuran engi. I wish you could at least dye your weapons other colors.

Ogre’s Rifle looks pretty old school and badas

But I agree that something pretty classy, intimidating inspired by Combat Shotgun or automatic one without flashy effects could be cool.

Are you insulting my Predator? I love my lovely predator ;3 it fits perfectly! However still an opinion ofcourse :P
Anyway, I think they should make more diversion in legendaries. Not making more by any means, but more like personalising them a bit more. But going offtopic here

Silly Lightsbane. There couldn’t be a legendary rifle for Engis because by the time it hits legendary status it’d be deprecated and replaced by a newer, more modern weapon.

If equipping the predator changed Hip shot to… I dunno, the same thing but fired from the shoulder, I’d be great with that. I can just pretend the more shotgun-appropriate attacks come from the flame-spewing thing that’s under the main barrel.

I think the Predator looks very boring compared to other legendaries in game, and I’m really no fan of the clown-gun either.

But I’m only ~150 teddy bears short of crafting Frenzy. Take that, ANet.

Wouldnt be even needed. I made that one up for a different topic related to the cannon too.. think about something like this here.

1- Ranged auto attack with 1s cooldown, heavy impact damage with some aoe radius ( sorta like pistol 1 just way more powerfull, actually on par with the bomb kit´s 1) and a range of 1000

2- A straight path following slow moving projectile that hurts everything in its path (think asura megablasters from the crucible of eternity dungeon just not homing) per tick and can be detonated like flamer 2 but keeps on following its path slowly till it hits a wall or its 1200 range limit

3- A frontal knockback cleave or conic aoe with the cannon to get up to 3 annoying pests off your kitten .

4- a backwards cannon jump with some low to mediocre aoe damage from the jump itself (think acid bomb just no ticks) that leaves a 2-3 s combo field behind, blind would be pretty perfect for that

5- High damage ground targeted rather big aoe with fire field

toolbelt skill- adds confuse to the next 3 attacks with it

Im pretty sure that would be a good alternative to nades for ranged combat in my opinion

I agree, a rifle that fits the Engineer more would be great. The Predator is definitely not it. It’s extremely awesome looking don’t get me wrong, but it has a scope… How anyone can argue that fits the Engineer is beyond me.

A shield that wasn’t made for Guardians would be nice as well. We only have access to 3 weapons, the least of any profession, it would be nice if they could have made at least 1 Legendary clearly designed for us. Engineer aesthetics suck.

The current Legendary does work if you designed your Eng to be a sniper.

Eng has some traits designed for sniping like the Scope trait that increase crit chance by 10% if 600 distance away, then combine with Rifled barrels (increase range by 200), and Rifle Mod (Increase damage by 10% for rifle and harpoon) then now you got yourself a sniper rifle heavily modified to have the power of a shotgun. :p

Visually the Predator’s a pain. Although I’ve been used to it and even liked it mostly because of the sounds that (on top of doing heavy damage per hit) makes me feel like I’m actually doing damage. I can forgive the hipshot animation.
