Did we really have a range problem with turrets? I mean, outside of the trait not working that well. I would guess not.
Until they address the real problem – they die in a couple seconds – turrets will continue to be near useless in PvE/WvsW modes.
Also, i can’t understand why they nerfed the base range of the rocket turret. Before the removed burning, and now this. Seems they hate said turret quite a lot.
Wow turret buffs … like somone uses now the 1hit uncritable crappy dps turrets … Arenanet plz …

I never noticed any trouble with the range.
Also, they introduced an issue with Net Turret. With Rifled Turret Barrels active, if you use the Overcharge, the Turret stops firing entirely after launching the Electrified Net.
So basically nades that take long time to land in wvw get nerfed again and some hilarious “updates” to stuff that is not viable. (turrets range).
They haven’t and did not intend on changing the mechanics this patch. Sure range isn’t the problem with turrets, but they are just fixing the broken trait.
I never use turrets. I guess removing the RNG from Grenade Barrage is good. Only thing I really like is the buff to Throw Wrench. 4 more stacks of vuln for my SD build is a-ok by me.

What exactly did they fix?
- Rifled Turret Barrels still does not work with Deployable Turrets (no range increase)
- The range indicator (red bar underneath skill icon) still does not update to the increased range.
- Overcharge still does not work correctly unless used instantly when placing turret.

To put a more technical spin on this, yes, the range of the turrets is not the issue with turrets, we all know that. However if you look at it from Anets prospective they can’t possibly fix everything in one patch, especially something with as many flaws as turrets. This looks like a step in the right direction though. They are fixing the low hanging fruit. The broken range trait was probably the easiest one technically to fix.
Given that I would imaging we can see some other improvements in the coming releases. Having worked in software development for quite some time I know how long these things can take, but it would be great if we could get some sign (a wink or a nod would suffice) that they are looking at the turrets or are at least planning on it.

I guess it was even before I started to play my engi seriously. The grenades used to deal 50% more damage – that’s what somone told me long ago. The patch note was -33% damage I guess. Anyone can confirm this?

I guess it was even before I started to play my engi seriously. The grenades used to deal 50% more damage – that’s what somone told me long ago. The patch note was -33% damage I guess. Anyone can confirm this?
Seems a bit off topic to discuss a long past change on a thread about yesterdays update but 50%, umm no. But grenades were nerfed at one point. Best part was how many threads I saw on the warrior forums of all places complaining about grenade damage.

The range will help you kill the current classes at wvw and pvp arenas ? answer is no. your turrents are useless at wvw and pvp now ;because thy can be destroyable too easily !!! your brain can get it ? ncsoft and arenanet should increase the damage done by turrents and make them more durable. ncsoft nerfed the rocker lancher’s damage … grenades are less usefull right now too.
look at grenade barrage = you throw grenades the place you falled down; ncsoft made a buff on this passive skill ;but where can you use this idiot buff ? will you jump down from fortress into enemy to make some 6-7 grenades’ damage on enemy ? answer is no again !!! look at tool kit ; I don’t use it personally, and the buffs are useless too. It is close range and it is not usefull on pvp too ( only pull skill and block skill is nice ;but it is really hard to change tools all the time to use some certain skills… so I prefer not to change tools all the time – I try to stick with one-two tools something. harpoon turrent buff which is useless buff – how many places can we use this buff ? hard to fight into water – there is no naval battles ( there is no such thing in game ;but I want to see that function ingame too ) or under water pvp most of time. grenade buffs only make the dots’ area more clear which was not so necessary to get such non-sense buffs…
tell me about an usefull buffs here ? answer is nothing ;and we nefred again too !!!
why other classes are not getting nerf so hard always like engineer ? if you check other classes’ buffs and nerfs ; engineer is getting worse buffs and best nerfs at every patches !!!

The only “nerf” was the damage against burning enemies thing. I never used that so I really don’t care xD Permavigor simply was too strong, but 50-80% is still enough. I mean we can skill speed on crit wich procs vigor too. What ever :P I don’t feel any big changes next patch I guess
