Better names for Guardian Spec - Brainstorm!
What about renaming this specialization to Nai-Draug? Draug is obviously a word for Dragon, and Nai sounds similar to ‘nigh,’ meaning near, or Close to. Judging from the skill Dragon’s Maw, this specialization must have absorbed some power from the dragons, making it Close to Dragons.
Well, there’s the above, and it’s completely backwards from how most of us envisioned how Guardians act.
Unfortunately, I actually rather like this idea, but using it for sarcastic purposes was just too tempting.
Ah, ok. I see from many of you that I’m not the only one that thought going from the current Guardian to a back row trapping and plunking sort of attacker is a step away from what I came to this class for.
The elite Spec focus on doing things outside the norm for their parent profession. That’s why they have their own icons so people know at a glance to not expect “its a Guardian” or mistake a Reaper for a Necro.
Fortunately, no one will make you play one either and there’s plenty of need for stock Guardians out there.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

That idea is worse than Dragonhunter.
I didn’t want to be the first to say it. It’s probably the worst suggestion I’ve seen on the forums in recent memory
Oh come on, it’s not that bad…
Okay, maybe it’s terrible, and maybe I just spelled Guardian backwards. I felt like this thread needed a little levity.
See, at first I think everyone is serious with their name ideas because they go to such great lengths to defend them, but then this joker right here is actually kidding, and I don’t know what to do with myself anymore.
I got the joke when I first read his spoiler XD

I swear there wasn’t a spoiler first time I read it
Maybe I’m slow but I missed the joke and think the ‘Draug" idea was pretty clever (didn’t Tolkien have some references to dragons as Draug?); at least more clever than the simplistic Dragon version we get from Anet.
