What color dye combinations did you choose for your Guardian?

This is sure to be a fun topic XD

I use Black Cherry and Celestial for my Guard.

abyss and ruby

I started this topic cause I am colorblind. I have a hard time picking my dyes cause I have no clue what looks good or not. Include a screenshot if you want.

Hot Pink and whatever blackest black I have, maybe Abyss or something.

The colors from interior texture of “leaf” to exterior texture – violet ice, pastel peach, pastel lemon. the veins of the leaves are pastel lemon, and luminesce in shadow and darkness.

btw, I’m using skinned armor made of Vigil except helm, which is still Draconic.

Horns = gold/sand dye.

oh crush just post a pic of yourself and let people suggest dye combos for you based on how you look. for instance, my color combo would probably not look good on anything OTHER than sylvari heavy armor for a female. vice versa, most other race’s heavy armor coloring doesnt look right on mine.

Well this isn’t just for me, it is also to show off what everyone has come up with.

the crimson-y red and the light blue your stuff comes with and cobalt. My charrdian is blood legion, so tried to incorporate blood and guardian colors.

I was using Dijon with Matte, but I recently got bored of that.
Now I did my entire armor “Frost”, which is white-shiny metallic and I’ve used “River”(Blue) , Tea Jeans (Darker Blue) and Stone (Gray) for details.

I couldn’t decide for a long time when I was leveling because I didn’t want my guardian looking like a fruit salad. In the end I just went for straight silver and let the world’s lighting bring the beauty of the colour.

oh attachments! well, why do they have the image code if you cant even use it? sigh. I had to go fruit salad-y because my sylvari cultural armor blends in my skin color to the armor itself! here is my Water lily theme:

Purple and green. Daily dose of Kita.

Actually, Can anyone give me some color scheme ideas for this armor?

I funnel all my dyes to characters based on a theme first. Mesmer gets pink/purple, necro gets green, ele gets blue/white, guardian gets all metallic.

I went with Sage and Midnight Ice as the main colors for anything metallic. Taupe and Midnight Yew for leather/fabric pieces. I put in Midnight Yew to break up the two colors on my boots while bringing some green lower on my character model. I use Ivory for the antlers on the helm and Forgiveness on the inside of the gloves.

I really like the Sage and Midnight Ice since they become more Green/Blue, respectively, depending on lighting.

Silver/Red/White Gold

At the moment I am using antique gold and matte for my armor :)

I really want to get celestial dye.

Can we preview dye colors somewhere? Or only when we have that item in our inventory?

I use Matte and Mountain Sky. I would prefer a lighter white or silver though; in some light that armor looks a lot dirtier than befits a holy Guardian :)

For a cheap white/celestial alternative, try Fog or Blue Ice. Both are very white and one is on the black spectrum whereas blue ice is a blue-white.

Myrdreth, you can check out the web, there are a few sites that have pictures of people wearing the dye full body. http://flufffactor.wordpress.com/gw2-dye-list/ is the most comprehensive.

I wound up spending a bit on Frost dye, and switching the blue to Hush. Looks pretty nice.

Restriction breeds creativity. And it’s not that hard to find random dyes while just doing everyday content.

Rose Tint + Breeze + Apricot

celestial + sky

I roll with White/Scarlet

Black. Not abyss because you will lose the shining reflects of the armor.

I use Celestial and Silver. My graphics settings are a bit low, so the quality of the pictures are not the best…

Im going with abyss and lava

I use Celestial and Midnight Blue as the primary colors, and use Silver, Frost, and Spring Dew for the details.
Overall, I like the way my guardian looks!

Using Icing for metal, Green Shade for cloth, and Iron for highlights where allowed. Still not sold on the pauldrons, might switch back to the heritage ones.

Fog for metal and a mix of Night Shade/Sincerity for the rest. Ehhh, I’m not too good with color combinations but I like it.

Actually, Can anyone give me some color scheme ideas for this armor?

Looks like either AC or CM.

Where else are you gonna get exotics? The only other exotic armors out there are from Crafting, WvW and Karma.

Crafting and Trading Post I haven’t done a lot of dungeon’s on my 80 Ele cause i’m not a huge fan (i’d rather WvW or PvP). I prefer PvP to PvE any day of the week.

I had about 12G on my Ele when I hit 80, which was enough to finish out my exotic gear (all 6 pieces plus staff) and buy Superior Runes for it from Trading Post, but now I’m kinda broke. I make good $$ in WvW though, and cash grinding PvE is pretty effective too.

the only designs you’ll get from the TP are those from crafts. There are no legendary armor pieces. You gotta go with what you think looks awesome, even if that means wasting time in dungeons. If no one did that, we’d all be humanoid dragons or zombies

I use Celestial and Abyss, Abyss and Illumination, or Celestial and Sapphire.

Midnight Fire, Grass, Hint

My primary armor is from Twilight Arbor which I assume is considered plant based by they dye system. So some dyes respond weirdly. I am still trying to find a blue that looks like it could come from a plant.

I think that is the PvP Heavy Plate armor.
