I love the moderation inconsistency here, one day bug compilation are not allowed and closed and the next day it is sticked ?@*?!!-//
- Rune of Dwayna : The 20% regeneration increase doesn’t apply on Guardian shoot “Hold the Line”, it applies well on “symbol of faith” though.
I tried it on the mists, with these runes the regeneration lasted almost 1 and a half more seconds than without them on hold the line, unfortunately i don’t have these runes on pve to test, did you check it there or in the mists?.
No, man. I was downed, and almost defeated (one or two more ticks until death). My friend’s Signet of Mercy brought my downed HP bar up, to around 70% but I have remained downed until someone came and manually revived me.
okay, adding in the unsure section thank you.
Shield of Absorption “Create a dome around you that pushes foes back and absorbs projectiles” doesn’t absorb cannonballs. Cannonballs are projectiles and should therefore be absorbed.
- Honor Trait : Writ of the merciful => Not working at all (no heal on symbol of swiftness)
tried on the mists, worked fine with both greatsword and staff symbols, was it on the mists or pve?

Haha now that is pretty funny and actually interesting, maybe they are not even categorized as projectiles lol, ill add to the unsure section too.
I found out what causes the Hammer- Symbol of Protection bug:
What happens is, if there are so many people around you, the protection buff may or may not be applied to you. I’m guessing there is a limit on how many people it can affect. It makes the skill feel rather clunky.

Aren’t every AoEs limited to 5 targets?
Ring of Warding and Line of Warding work on friendly NPCs with a set movement path, like the wandering NPCs in cities.
Line of Warding is affected by Symbol traits, such as extended duration.
Tried it, the tooltip says it lasts 5 seconds but it always lasted like 8 seconds even without any trait selected. adding.

besides this, when saw the bug it didnt create the symbol at all.
There is a bug with Aegis and applying it to yourself and others. Through “Retreat!,” Virtue of Courage and other means, attacks that strike amazingly fast (like a channeled effect) in PvE can have the entirety of the attack blocked… which, when stacked with Might of the Protector, leads to 20+ stacks of Might.
I have to run more tests, but I had it happen to both my Guardian AND my group mates. They couldn’t believe how much they had blocked in rapid-succession, and I don’t believe it’s intentional.
I have reproduced the bug Tim mentioned by accident last night, in Twilight Arbor. I thought it was weird that I had Block block block block spam on my screen about 8 times, but I thought it was just a visual bug so I went on my way. I did in fact have Retreat in my build during the time, but I can’t remember if I used Virtue of Courage or Retreat when it happened. Can’t remember what mob it happened against.
LE: I have just tested this on a Golem using their submachine gun attack. I’ve used Virtue of Courage just before the attack started but this didn’t happen. Tim, can you suggest any mobs that have a channel attack like you describe? AC necromancer lifesteal comes to mind but I can’t find any group for that atm

Hammer of Wisdom (Command) – Tool tip on the command ability states having a 1200 unit range, when activated the hammer will only fly about half that (roughly 600 units), often times falling short of the target. The hammer will not even try to follow up by using standard attacks on the target it will simply be destroyed (or if traited with Eternal Spirit will just return to you) wasting the commands activation.
Commands for Hammer of Wisdom and Shield of the Avenger will NOT actually cause the units to do anything (other than float there) without a target and they WON’T engage the target either, but the Command ability’s cooldown will go off. I noticed this while I tried using it against a Thief that went into stealth only to find that I wasted my cooldowns because my Spirit Weapons didn’t even make a attempt to hit it.

Judge’s Intervention sometimes bugs and will not teleport you to your target when they are on a different elevation and in range.
Occasionally Symbol of Swiftness does not add Swiftness when you run through it, or it adds a shorter 2-4s buff.
All the situation, i have no retaliation increase at all (tested with “stand your ground” skill).

Confirm, its doesn’t work wherever it was WvW, PvE, Mists, Dungeons!
Tested with my friend, he also plays as a Guardian!
Server EU: Desolation
Ok this is how i tested writ of the merciful.
I selected the trait, equipped a staff and a greatsword.
then i took some dmg from the training mobs
popped the symbols on the ground.
I did not receive any regeneration buff, but i was getting healed for 202 a tic,
I also tossed some symbols on some random people fighting the mobs, they were already injured, as soon i popped the symbol under them they received 5 tics for 202 healing.
All the situation, i have no retaliation increase at all (tested with “stand your ground” skill).
Try it with save yourselves since its easy to compare, All the boons last the exact same amount of time according to the tooltip, but when you see the boon timers go down you will clearly see that retaliation expires a few moments after the rest of the boons.
Edit: the retaliation increase is not indicated on the tooltip, just on the boon timers you will see.

already added the symbol of swiftness bug in there, about the judges intervention its probably the same issue that the sword flashing blade, it will fail to tele super often if they are higher than me
@Apraxas, tested in PVE/WvW and sPvP no regeneration increase on “hold the line” (works with other skills though) with the rune of dwayna.
And yes i never trust tooltip either (i look boon and chronometer to be sure), it just doesn’t work (same for retaliation 25% increase).
I have 6s regeneration with hold the line, not more. Since i use this skill a lot in WvW it really hurts not having the boost on it.

Okay, as soon i get home ill make a small video showing the behavior i get with these boon duration spells so we can try to explain to anet.
Here. video showing my results with the runes of dwayna and hold the line
retaliation test included.
If you use Leap of Faith with the greatsword, and during the animation switch weapon, the Leap cooldown will be around 3 seconds. This means that out of combat you can travel very quickly, and I don’t think this is intentional.
I’d like to report a bug with Ring of Warding; the description does not mention it is a combo field (light) when infact it is.

Thx 4 test! U right, its give few tics for 200+ healing! Excellent! It’s working!
P.S.
Bugged? Trait line – Valor – “VII” Mace of Justice (Mace damage is increased by 5%)
I don’t get any 5%… Can some one test it?

Should be really easy, go to the mists, get one of the steady maces that dont have rng dmg, test the dmg on 1 attack using the trait and without. then ull see
Boons Lengths -
I’m trying to figure out exactly what’s going on with my boon lengths (some are confusing me) and was wondering if someone could explain some things, or help point out whether they are in fact bugs or not.
Firstly, my build:
Runes: 2x Monk (25 healing, +15% boon duration), 2x Water (25 healing, 15% boon duration), 2x Earth (25 toughness, +20% protection duration).
Traits: 0, 10 (Signet Mastery), 20 (Purity, Honorable Shield), 20 (Wrathful Spirit, Superior Aria), 20 (Vengeful, Absolute Resolution).
Here are my findings:
1. I receive a ~17 second Retaliation when an attack removes my automatically applied Aegis.
2. I receive a ~5 second Retaliation when I activate any of the three virtues.
3. I receive approximately a ~70 second (yes, over a minute!) Retaliation when I activate a virtue, then lose the Aegis from an attack. Unfortunately, this is somewhat random, as I have also received a ~41 second Retaliation doing this.
4. I receive a ~21 second Retaliation when I activate Virtue of Resolve and lose my automatically applied Aegis (this obviously involves a stacked Retaliation).
5. I receive a ~47 second Retaliation when I activate (in the following order) “Stand Your Ground!” (says 7.5 second Retaliation in the tooltip), Virtue of Resolve and lose my automatically applied Aegis.
6. I receive a ~37 second Retaliation when I activate Virtue of Courage over an already applied Aegis, and lose the Aegis.
I do have “Save Yourselves!”, but at no point do I activate it.
This is confusing as hell right now, and I haven’t even investigated every Retaliation possibility or order. Can someone give insight as to what is right and what is wrong for me please?
I had to test this out when I was spamming (admittedly) some virtues and shouts and got 2 minute Retaliations in sPvP.
If a Dev wants access to my Character for whatever reason, just have to ask, but some of these numbers are completely absurd.
Edit: Apologies for formatting, it seems the plus sign has caused part of the text to underline.

i believe i already added a bug about the trait that gives random ammounts of retaliation when aegis is lost.
Ah, so you did, thanks.

Just curious, but for Flashing Blade, were guardians suppose to turn into a beam of light and fly towards the target? I recall seeing a video of that somewhere…
all the boom increases from rune dosen’t stack with "virtues " path bonus " concentration" this mean that if you have a 20% from the rune set to protection but you already have a 20 % to all boom thx to concentration you will have not 20%+20% cos they dont stack and indeed you have only 20%, and is in this way for every thing that increse the boom duration
Zealot’s Flame (torch #4) does not trigger fury if you trait for Radiance / Inner Fire.

It doesn’t burn you.

Rune duration increases doesn’t reflect on tooltip. Did you took that into consideration?
Inner Fire says it activates “when you are set on fire,” not “when you gain burning.” Zealot’s Flame, a torch ability, “set[s] yourself alight.” So unless the guardian is setting himself alight with wispy blue fairy dust, I’d say he is set on fire when activating the ability.
When I first saw that trait, I figured it would be activated by it as well. It may not be their intent, but the way it is worded, it’s not hard to assume that people will think it will work that way.
Courageous Return minor trait. Today it didn’t worked for me. I rallied but Virtue of Courage was still on recharge. Can somebody confirm this?
yeah that torch ability does not proc the fury trait, but it is intended to activate with the burn condition, not the spell buff.
Is Healer’s Retribution bugged? I’ve traited it recently and it doesn’t seem to proc off of most healing skills, not to be confused with regen. I assumed at first that this trait was only meant to work on your ‘healing’ utility skills but it also procs off the small heal when you activate virtue of resolve.
Skill it procs with:
Healing Breeze
Signet of Resolve
Virtue of Resolve
Shelter
Skills it does NOT proc with but are a “healing” skill:
Empower
Orb of Light
Merciful Intervention
Sanctuary
Anyone else having this issue too? :<
The 3rd tier trait ’ Perfect Inscriptions’ does not do anything, at least from what I can perceive. Does not update the tooltip and none of the signets seem to do anything ‘extra’
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Healing_skill
theres the list on which it is supposed to activate healers retribution, which means activating a virtue is probably a bug and it should not.

already discussed and tested this trait, worked fine at least in the mists.

Finally unlocked Grandmaster collumn. I have 30 Virtues, which should be 30% CD reduction on virtues. However, it’s about 27-28%.
Justice: 23s
Resolve: 46s
Courage: 69s
As opposed to 21/42/63. Or is there something I’m forgetting?

the wording says it increases recharge rate, not really reduces cooldown, ive seen other topics discussing the difference between recharge rate and cooldown reduction, which i dont remember exactly how they worked. prob worth looking more into this.
EDIT: Found it
New recharge = normal recharge/(1+recharge modifer)
So in your example:
30/(1+0.3) =23s recharge.
60/(1+0.3) =46s recharge.
90/(1+0.3) =69s recharge.
(edited by Moderator)
Actually 23% if I worked it out correctly, so quite a bit off there.

Good job, thanks.
and yeah, I actually meant 22-23 instead of 27-28, mixed it up with 0.77-0.78.
(edited by Qelris.6901)
That’s either a sneaky intention (approx 1/3 less recharge than you actually think), or a mix up on the formula, as 30% would actually be Base recharge*(1-0.3).

no cuz there you are doing base recharge *.7, which is the same as reduce the cooldown by 30%
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Recharge
There’s nothing to suggest recharge is different from cooldown, just the way things are worded, i.e ‘recharges’ instead of ‘reduces cooldown by’, so I’m really confused here. A 30% recharge rate is not a 30% recharge rate at all, it’s a 23% recharge rate, unless there is something else I’m not aware of or I’m reading into this wrongly.
Sir Byren – Guardian – Mace/Shield & Scepter/Focus
Zaldoras – Necromancer – Staff & Scepter/Dagger
think of this. if the recharge rate is 1 second every.. 1 second. even if its kind of weird, so if you make them recharge 30% faster thats 1.3 seconds every 1 second :P
1.3*23=30s from virtue of justice
cooldown reduction is different, if you reduce the total number 30s by 30% that makes it 21s, notice the different results?
I get that now, but AN is still very very naughty for doing this lol, but I’ll have to let them off as I’ve tested Mesmer’s recharge rate and it’s also X/(1+0.3) at 30 points, so I’m taking a guess at everything else is that way too so it’s all fine and dandy then.
