Guardian Virtues - Feedback
General Reduce Virtue base recharge to 20s, 40s, 60s base. Remove the “Virtues recharge faster” from the minor trait. Instead, individual Virtues traits focus on either reducing the recharge or boosting the passive effects. Right now, the bonus for using a virtue feels too much like a penalty unless you spec heavily into the Virtues traitline.
Virtue of Justice The active should apply 2 stacks of burning.
Absolute Resolution Increased healing from VoR active and removes 2 conditions on use. No passive boost. Possibly reduce recharge slightly. It was just too powerful before and nothing could compete.
Battle Presence Passive is stronger and affects allies.
Unscathed Contender Also reduces the interval for passive Aegis on VoC.
Indomitable Courage Reduces recharge on VoC slightly, but no longer reduces the passive interval.
Permeating Wrath This is probably a better fit in Radiance as a major trait.
Justice is Blind should probably be in the Virtues trait line.
Renewed Justice (Radiance Trait) should reduce the recharge by several seconds for critical hits or hitting a burning foe with a low CD. Basically allow radiance to use VoJ active more often.
General Consider making each major slot have all 3 choices apply to the same virtue (or something un-related to virtues). Interesting thematically, but not sure how it would apply for gameplay.
Virtue’s Base: Reduce the cd’s appropriately(not 100% on this one), and boost the passive benefits as well. Virtue’s are inherently poor versions of signets. They provide VERY little benefit passively and only if you trait into that line will you actually benefit from popping its active use.
Inspired Virtue should be baseline.
Virtue of Retribution: Needs to be overhauled, retaliation is by far the most useless of all boons(in spvp).
Power of the Virtuous: Remove the damage increase and give us back our Boon Duration that was taken away.
Adepts
Unscathed Contender: Reduce to 10% but while under the effects of some other boon that can be reliably obtained.
Retaliatory Subconscious: Overhaul to give 3 seconds of protection on a 5 sec ICD.
Masters/GM’s
Merge Supreme Justice and Permeating Wrath.
Absolute Resolution: Boost the passive by a greater amount
Glacial Heart: Overhaul to maybe increase attack speed on hammer with a cd reduction.
Battle Presence: Allow Guardians to keep the passive on Resolve, spread to allies.
The main issues I had with Dragonhunter, was simply the cast time on one of the virtues, “Shield Of Courage” – The counterparts have an instant cast time, and it feels very sluggish to have a cast time for the F3, whilst the F1 and F2 are completely understandable.
I seriously hope the cast time for shield of courage will be removed.
Retaliatory subconscious shouldn’t be a block.
I bring this up because after getting CC’ed our block will get removed by a weak sneeze or random AoE and in the era of CC Wars 2, this trait should rather give us an immunity to another CC aimed at us and our allies in in 600 yards radius for the whole duration of combat state.
Now that’s a passive that fits the new CC meta.
Maybe when ANet is done overtuning elite specs in comparison to normal specs, they can give guardians back the 600 range they arbitrarily removed from virtues.
What Rodney, Arken & Exe have said plus a few other things like
1: Traits that effect a virtue & either make you want to use it ASAP or never use it at all should be merged so that they better rounded. (this is true not only for virtues but for radiance and dragonhunter as well)
2: Some traits really feel like they are in the wrong tree entirely. (numerous examples but purity of body is a good one. It really should be in virtues. Instead honor could definitely use a flat + boon duration 3rd minor not tied to a weapon, since it deals so much with boons)
(Another example would be glacial heart)
