Guardians Need Range
They could speed up the sceptre attack, basically it seems like most guardian attacks are quite slow. Mace has a horrible cast time for the third attack and staff is not really a good choice for range.
Devs envisioned Scepter as our long range option, but I really can’t see why. Smite is most effective when it’s used in melee range against melee characters. It’s a very offensive defense against them. If you use it against ranged, you better have your immobilize ready.
I don’t care for weak ranged if we excel in melee.
Should the mace and sword be buffed a bit (less cast on mace 3rd hit, less CDs on sword) then I wouldn’t really mind.
If we’re going to stay with this though, I’d rather have our Hadokens move much faster and smite improved.
Why in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ would you consider shortening the cast time on the Mace’s 3rd hit a buff? You can interrupt it whenever you want if you missed your queue for a block.

I concur, they can’t possibly exclude us from keep or attack defense phases in WwW.
Please buff the scepter to do real damage and fast, not skills that hit like wet noodles.
we need in particular a faster single attack and a large damage aoe like ALL other classes have.
Who said bow abilities can’t be supportive? I don’t see a reason why a bow would make the guardian a ranged powerhouse, especially if the devs focus on support abilities or combo fields.
I’d still rather have a pistol+shield just because it is an interesting and fun combination and unfortunately the engineer us the only class who can go pistol+shield.
i dont want a new weapon. I can see what kind of flavor anet is going for the guardian. A magic knight of sorts, so sceptre should stay.
it just needs to be not lame. Faster “cottonball” attacks and a better looking smite is all i ask
The Sceptre is a really boring weapon though even if they increase the speed of the 1 skill. At least that’s my opinion I have no idea how others feel but to me our supposedly ranged options Sceptre/Staff feel boring.. :S
