Merciful Intervention
Never liked it. Half the time I end up teleporting to myself.
Lorella Windrunner – 80 Thief
Shayera Nightfall – 80 Mesmer
In dungeons, it would teleport me to NPCs that follow your group. Extremely frustrating and rendered the ability useless.
I agree it should be target ally, or fix it so it doesn’t target NPCs over PCs.
Level 80 Guardian, Thief
Minions of Grenth, Jade Quarry
Arenanet doesn’t want to implement “target ally” skills, since it’s to close to targeted healing. It was somewhere in the article about healing and death, I think.

Then remove the healing. The skill would be useful for the teleport mechanic, not the healing.
Arenanet doesn’t want to add targeting because they don’t want targeted healing? What’s wrong with targeted healing? What’s wrong with healing in general? What, did a doctor attack them as a kid?
Removing dedicated healing is a way of removing the trinity. Targeted healing is a big part of dedicated healing. If you put targeted healing in, people are more encouraged to try and be “pure” healers.
I’m not saying I agree with it, but I’m guessing that was the line of thinking.
There is a big difference between dedicated healing and 1 skill with a recharge of 80 that heals for about 10% of a level 80’s health.
I think it should just be targeted on the Ground. Like the Mesmer’s and the Ele’s teleport ability. I understand why they don’t want you to target allies. Imagine having to select your ally, teleport and then reselect the enemy. Feels very clunky compared to how dynamic GW2 combat currently is. I assume they made it this way because they didn’t want you to have to click your allies. But targeting it on the Ground would be perfect in my opinion, although it might be too good for escaping, especially with the instant meditations trait.
I really don’t know where to go with this skills, it’s an awesome concept but it’s hard to come up with a way it can really work in combat without being too strong.
@Bobnintendo
Judge’s intervention requires a target, I have had no problems with this.
Anet simply hate healers.
GW2 is a DPS game.
If you want be tank, you can do it a little bit…
But if you want to be healer, foget it.
Merciful Intervention should be the Judge’s Intervention specular skill.
Judge’s Intervention is a target skill… and it works.
Mercifull no… and it suks.
Anet should change the mind about support/healing game.

There’s still problems with this such as using the skill to exploit teleporting for example (teleporting on top of the keeps in wvw).
The big problem with this skill is that it does not teleport to the lowest health ally, but instead just teleports to the CLOSEST ally. If it worked the way its description said it did then it would be fine. Really it’s still not bad, just targeting is annoying by closest ally.

Yes. An Opponent. Clearly they don’t want you to have spells that target allies, because to my knowledge, there are only 3 spells in the entire game that target allies, and they are all revive spells on a huge cooldown.
When i use it, i run to the friend i want to heal, i stick on him, and than i use the skill.
90% of time it works.
4% no healing effect. (??)
6% teleport back to another stupid ally, behind me, who came closest to me for no reason.
haven’t use this skill for long time. i remember last time i use it. A guy with 22k hp damaged a bit. i want to teleport to help him but instead, port to another guy with full hp. (his max hp is less than 15k.)
This skill seems bugged atm and will will often not teleport the guardian anywhere or even proc the healing area.
