Finally managed to get my stats where I want them. The goal was to reach at least 3k attack, 3k defense, 17k HP, 30+ crit chance and as much crit damage as I could after that.

I’m thinking of trying out that similar setup (full Soldier’s gear) and running with a Monk’s Focus build that emphasizes on sustained damage and high survivability. How are you finding it? Would the lack of crit and crit damage hamper your ability to do damage effectively?

But incase there is some confusion as to what the stats mean: armor = toughness + defense

This is my Guardian P L E X S on SoS and this is my fractal build that I run. I use all berserkers except for body and legs which are soldiers and 5/6 fractal pieces. Third pic is with superior sharpening stones and a plate of truffle steak and the last pic is with chocolate omnomberry creams for 40% MF and extra 20% boon duration which put me at 70% boon duration. The runes I use are 2-superior rune of the water, 2- superior rune of the monk and 2- major rune of sanctuary

I’d love to know how you hit 18k Health with 40%+ crit and 3000+ attack/defense.
I need to find a way to move 200 pts of toughness into vitality, but that still won’t get me to 18k Health (I’d need another 100 to do that).

If you don’t have Ascended back you can use Soldiers with Beryl jewel and switch 1 of the Zerker earings for knight to make up for armor loss, and sit around 18.3 health, 27% crit chance and 68% crit damage.
This build is mainly used in WvW, I can still front line tank, jump in the middle and lay some people out, roam around and kill people. Build works fine for PvE ofc. Been using it on 20+ fracts as well.

I see some of the difference now — you have 30 in honor whereas I’m at 20. So that’s the missing 100 from vit I was looking for. Also the ascended gears will help me a bit too.

I ran a 0/15/20/30/5 for a while and liked it a lot, but I wanted to achieve some certain stats that I just couldn’t seem to hit with that build and soldier runes.

sigil of perception on gs, with 25 stacks i get like ~50% crit chance
with scepter/shield i got:
2835 attack
37% crit chance
3323 armor
19055 hp
sigil of perception + accuracy (+5%) crit change. so with 25 stacks i get ~55% crit chance

I do run AH. Toughness is plenty imo. I always shoot for 3k armor. Depending on your play style is where hp can vary on the user. This build works great in pve, as well as dungeons!

Do you have AH? (I bet you do). I run a dps hybrid with scepter/torch (high range dps) and GS (for some tank action and quick finishing moves). I want to have at least 50% (S+T) and 45% (GS) crit chance and I come across with defensive stats around 1812 Toughness and 1388 Vitality (15525hp).
Based on your and Zachs experience, do you think these survivability stats are enough to be anchor/tank/melee guardian when necessary? I won’t go melee as many times as you and Zach but I will need them sometimes…If not, should I raise Toughness or Vitality?

Yea, I’m using AH and 2x cond removal on shouts. With 25 perception stacks I get up to 55% crit rate on GS and 54% on hammer (no idea why the hammer has less crit rate, both dont have crit in their stats).
If your focus lays on WvW I’d recommend you to take some more vitality. It’s really helpful when you jump right into the zerk and open up a push opportunity.
For PvE I don’t think it really matters that much.
Unbuffed. Once I get my two new infusions I’ll be at 3,051 attack

Been lurking around the forums and so I can see that this sthread is still active, I updated my previous builds and here’s my new stats. Without the buffs.
These are my stats as of now but I need to get different ascended jewels other then the one I originally picked out. This build is centered around crits to survive, the more I crit the more might my allies receive and the more healing that’s done. Plus I gain 5 seconds of vigor (dodge) when I crit and that heals me as well with selfless daring.
Current stats for the moment unbuffed. Once I get the laurels for it I’m going to get the zerker/valk ascended earring to buff up my crit chance.

On average non-crits are 850-1k a swing, with crits being anywhere between 2k (against bunker enemies) to 9k (glass cannons and/or decent stacks of vulnerability.) Might blow tends to crit consistently for 4-5k across all build types, which isn’t too shabby since it’s on a 4 sec cooldown. I don’t rely too heavily on having a super high crit chance just because this weapon combo / build has multiple sources of attacks coming in at once (#1 chain symbol, smite, purging flames) in addition to use of binding jeopardy, which adds free stacks on vulnerability on enemies when immobilized, and fiery wrath which adds 10% damage when enemies are on fire (something that is easily kept up).

Power: 18XX
Crit. chance: 36%
Toughness: 18XX (3XXX armor)
Vitality: 170X (18100 HP)
Crit. damage: 68%
Great for WvW (staff auto atack does 2000~ damage while criting with nourishments in huge fights) both roaming and for large scaled fight and great for PvE too.

Armor is soldiers with 6x rune of divinity
Weapons are knights with superior sigil of accuracy
Back/1 ring/1 earring are berserkers with precision infusions
1 ring/1 earring are valkyries with precision infusions
Neck is cavaliers with precision infusion.
Also updated pic now that I have my earrings. Unbuffed.
Here are my stats. High crit chance tanky build with decent dps and high survivability. I bolster my dismal attack power with a Sigil of Bloodlust on my shield to give myself another 250 attack power at max stacks. High armour rating helps mobs stick to me most of the time.

The image shows my stats fully buffed. I have Sigil of Accuracy on my weapons so my crit chance is 50%. May switch back to 0/5/30/30/5 if I feel I need the extra survivability
