Taking all the aggro in zerker?
I have the opposite experience, in my full pVt armor, i aggro kittenloads of stuff and they stick to me 95% of the time, and i hit them for about 500. But in zerker they could not bother attacking me at all.
Using a GS in pVt, would normaly use the hammer. But it seems to aggro alot less with hammer rather than GS.
Account and Char® name could
be the same, Profanity!?
I play various setups to not get bored (Berserk, Hybrids, Support/Heals, Funbuilds) and I can tell you that the aggro is quite random. There are various factors determining the aggro, depending on how close you are, how much damage is dealt, HP and armor values…depending on the group composition and their actions, the aggro unlikely will be same every time.
So I wouldn’t say that for example Berserk gets more aggro than a full-supporter. One can tend to get more aggro than the other depending on the mentioned aggro-factors, but as compositions and actions aren’t the same on every group, it generally gets random.
Maybe we made different experiences on this subject, but I’m sure most see it same.
Hm, might just be bad luck on my part these last few weeks I guess
its’ really hard to say. certain bosses, high toughness attracts ‘em. others, maybe high damage. proximity. rezzing. what have you… there isn’t supposed to be an aggro system in the game so it’s pretty “random” in that sense. lol.
most ikely a combination of the pugs you’re in, their stats, your stats, etc and they just happen to aggro on you lol. better luck next week? XDD

Certain bosses I feel target certain classes.
For example in CoE, the golem boss with the 4 buff turrets will primarily target medium armor classes. Whether I’m using my ranger or engi I will always get targetted.
for some bosses high DPS gets targetted. in my experience slave driver and some others I can’t name off the top of my head will aggro to high DPS characters.
for others some classes tend to get targetted. I see COE golem boss target eles with its lasers most of the time.
but if you’re highest DPS in a party as a guardian I feel sorry for you

I’m pretty sure he aggros on players with a ranged weapon… which screws engineers as that’s the only option. I should try it with mh dagger on my ele to see if this is the case. As a guard or warrior though, I never take aggro in that fight.

Why?
Charr Guardian
47k kills and counting
but if you’re highest DPS in a party as a guardian I feel sorry for you
Why?
because guardian isn’t amazingly high in the DPS charts, and if your DPS is that much higher than the rest of the party they are definitely doing something wrongly.

I’ll see your low dps and raise you a whole can of kickarse ;-)

My guess is your aggro is exactly the same, on average. The difference now is little attacks that you used to just ignore because you were tanky are not at all trivial anymore.
This is the game’s way of telling you its time to improve your damage mitigation skills. Congrats, you’re ready to go to the next level, you just have to be willing to do it.

well, you get what I mean – guardian is by no means bad DPS (they have excellent modifiers etc.) but in comparison to LH eles and thieves their DPS isn’t much. also, they are highly dependent on party might/fury buffing to hit that hard, so in comparison to e.g. warriors they are much more reliant on a good party to maximise their DPS.

No, you know you are targeted because the first hit of his beam is a knockdown. I never get targeted by this on my warrior.

Aggro is accountbound on creation.
Just a opinion.

I fully understand that encounter and the bosses’ aggro mechanics. The OP is complaining that he is drawing more aggro as a Berserker Guardian than he did when he was PVT. This is 100% incorrect. As I said, he always drew his fair share of aggro, but before he didn’t get bothered when he would take a hit or two since he was so tanky. Now that he isn’t tanky anymore he notices a stray hit or two much more.
