Virtue of Justice sucks now.
Since burn does stack do not underestimate the pressure a well timed F1 can do please!
Even without any condi damage that’s 131*4sec*5 party members: 2600 damage and a blind (maybe). This is a free 500 DPS for the team.
If any of the members have condition damage stats this is a completely different story…

I was referring more to solo play but i do see how it can be strong in group play; its just really inconsistent and i loved the old burning; thats life though.
They specifically lowered the base damage and raised the coefficient multiplied with your condi damage in this last patch. They did this for all condi’s. They wanted to strengthen condi’s when you specced for them and weaken them when you didn’t. You’re asking for them to reverse what they just specifically did. IIRC they said at 700 condi damage you’d match the old, but at max you’d exceed the old max output.
The active needs to apply atleast 3 burn stacks for it to be useful imo.

thats 15 stacks of burn on 1 target for 8 secs if your party is on the same target, 3 stacks is too much.

In solo play, I can consistently keep up 1-1.5k burn ticks, with spikes hitting as high as 2.5k. In a group that can keep up 25 might stacks, I can consistently keep up nearly 3k burn ticks. I have 36 total condition damage.
Protip: If you’re activating your virtue of justice, you’re doing it wrong.

can you post a video of you doing this during a minute long engagement? Use a golem for all I care. I’d love to see it.
Don’t disappoint me now
So you want a person with 0 condi DMG stat to do good condi damage….?
To get 1k burn ticks with 36 condition damage you need 7 consistent stacks of burning. For 2.5k, 18 stacks.
Protip: When trying to brag about something you can’t do don’t use ridiculously high numbers. Push for the limit by all means, but don’t go double the limit… and definitely not 6 times.
I mean, plenty of people are able to break 25 stacks of burning alone. Quark is probably hitting 5 targets with plenty of aoe and Supreme Justice, maybe with Torch traited also. With 100% burn uptime (4s passives), Quickness, GS/sw+t, Purging Flames, Symbol Burns, and Permeating Wrath, it’s not unlikely to hit those numbers of stacks.
The new dungeon build takes all those condition traits, but runs full zerker, so only having 36 condition damage is also not unreasonable. Sword is replaced with Mace though.

Pretty much this. It’s not difficult to maintain 7 stacks of burning, and hitting 18 stacks isn’t difficult either, though, not maintainable.
GS/mace+torch with all the burning traits. I also use runes of the traveler (10% condi duration) and sigils of smoldering (20% burn duration) in all my weapons.

make the active give 2 stacks of burn.

man game stills that hard….. for some what isn’t overpowered isn’t balanced enough.

That’s true I didn’t consider the party wide effect. It seems really hard to balance around then, as one burning stack is nearly useless in a solo scenario and mediocre at best in group play but increasing the stacks from the active adds between 2-5 more stacks based on party size. Perhaps atleast 2 stacks? 10 stacks is not really feasible on a single person in pvp imo as AoE will trigger it on any random target.

I believe that Anet could do something more complex than currently activied VOJ to fix that. As an example … VoJ activated could give out 4 stacks of burning. That gets divided among you and people in your team who are within range.
If you are alone, you would get all 4.
If all 4 people in your team in range, everyone gets 1 stack, you get none.
If only 2 people in range, they get 1 stack each, you get the rest.
Balanced.
Or deal moderate aoe damage when activating justice
Or deal moderate aoe damage when activating justice
So keep it the way it is and add a one time AOE (ideally a blast finisher?) when activated.
