Zealous Blade healing too negligible?
The trait shouldn’t even have to be based on healing power to be effective and should just be given a flat 100 healing plus whatever percentage of healing power or be given a 50 healing plus plus a certain percentage of power instead considering its placement in a power tree.
Regardless of which option, the healing should be at least 100/hit to be useful considering how the greatsword is only often used to unload it’s burst and then switched to another weapon.
You take it for the 5% damage modifier,
That being said, I would like to see it scale with power, wouldn’t change much but the extra little bit may help sometimes.
Necros suffer from the same issues with vampiric traits.
There’s a reason why it is so low, though. Under extreme and unusual circumstances, the healing can become quite powerful.
For example, Symbol of wrath can hit 5 enemies 5 times, for a total of 25 attacks. Whirling Wrath can hit 7 times with its spin (not sure if it counts as cleave, so I’ll just say 21 hits) with the projectiles hitting an additional 7 times. This comes to 53 attacks in a very short amount of time, resulting in 1325 additional healing in two moves.
Of course, the chances getting 5 enemies lining up, and not doing so much damage that this heal is meaningful is extremely rare. But, Anet is terrified of heals, so they’ve balanced things like Zealous Blade around ridiculous conditions, and refuse to budge from that spot.
Shhh don’t tell anyone, but I get more than that on a dodge roll, more than that on a staff #2 pop, and more than that after 4 seconds of regen…

The difference is, you don’t deal any damage with all the stuff you mention. And no, staff 2 is no damage, it’s a joke like the whole weapon.

Staff 2 is actually pretty good damage and it’s mainly good for healing + dmg in one.
On topic, I think 100 healing flat would be broken. But 1250 ish healing provided you land a full burst on 5 targets is really bad xD
LOL guys, 100 healing per hit WITHOUT healing power sounds so OP. I love it, lets hassle a-net until they succumb to our demands. Only healing we would need is whirling wrath.

He doesn’t do any damage, period. LOL staff camping cleric build.
